they work in a pocket... or a bag, or your sock (seriously, try it)

Does the process need oxygen? Just wondering if you need to keep it in your hands a lot rather than stowing it in a pocket, that would stop the heating process because it doesn't get enough oxygen?

I was being sarcastic. I know full well that a discount is a deal, I was posting in response to the comment stating that it's not really a deal because it's only an 11% discount.

Perhaps the site should be called HotUKPrices

It should be called HotAmazonDealPrices. It's all anyone seems to post these days, even though there's a whole section for Lightning Deals on the site already. :smirk:

A discount is a deal and 11% isn't that bad however looking at the camel seems that the real price is around £17 until it was reduced in November to this price.

I have the chrome one and couldn't get it work work last weekend. After having cold hands at rugby I got home to be told by my wife that it had gone through the washing machine, so she wasn't surprised. I'm hoping it will come alive again at some point. Best advice - wash it with a damp cloth, not a washing machine.

I bought the chrome one a week ago (was the same price then) and used it on Saturday at a football match. Was nice and toasty. As someone else said, the 12 hour one is quite big, looks like a Zippo lighter on steroids!

it's bigger than I expected. I assumed it would be the same size as their lighters

Well looked like a nice gift for someone with cold hands. Bought one! Heat added.

What percent price drop does it need to be to count as a deal?

You fill it with lighter fluid and then place a catalytic burner cap on (think it is platinum metal). Use a lighter to start it, there is no flame, the initial heat from lighter starts reaction in the 'burner' that consumes the lighter fluid and generates heat.
