With difficulty these days. Microsoft seem to be cracking down on it. You basically need to make a Russian Xbox live account, buy a ruble gift card, purchase a game on your Russian account and when it asks for payment redeem your gift card. This is what I had to do this morning to buy Firewatch.

Nah you can redeem them on your UK gamer tag you just have to change the region on the console or xbox.com before redeeming, but you can only redeem them when clicking through to purchase a game or content and then select payment method, choose the gift card option then redeem your code there

From release they've been great? Well I guess, apart from countless ports having lower IQ and resolution compared to PS4, then there's the 100 quid paper weight kinect being DOA and now being all but completely forgotten..

I'm not sure having to back track on ridiculously stupid mistakes for the first 3 years of a consoles life means they've been doing 'great'. The damage control has gone as well as they could have hoped, but after the RROD last time around, this is an improvement.

I don't know why you're babbling on. You asked what happened to Microsoft since the Xbox announcement and that they've
constantly done stupid things and made bad decisions. You're talking about one thing from the announcement which they quickly backtracked on. My point was since the release of Xbox they've been great which they have. Examples being, games with gold, ea access, backwards compatibility. They made a mistake at one point with the console which is why the PS4 outpowers it but there's nothing they can do now apart from work with what they have (Scorpio will change this... But that's obviously a bad decision to you right?).

Yeah kinect was a bust, that happens. Psvr looks to be heading the same way. I fail to see where the constant (as you said) bad decisions and stupidity have been since release apart from kinect. Unless of course you want them to perform magic and fix all issues instantly?

Hey Misa,

it's pretty straight forward, all you need to do is purchase the correct amount of credit you need from SeaGM (https://www.seagm.com/xbox-live-gift-cards-russia), for example Witcher 3 base game is currently 484.50 Rubles (£6.41 GBP) if you have Xbox Live Gold, so you just need to buy 500 Rubles, if you don't have Gold it's 581.40 so you would need 1000 Rubles, you can pay with PayPal, once the order goes through you need to go to your account on SeaGM and click on the 'My Game Cards' link, enter your SeaGM password to get the code.

Once you have the code, go to the game you wish to purchase on Xbox.com, in this example Witcher 3 base game, and change the region in the bottom left to Russia (https://www.microsoft.com/ru-ru/store/p/the-witcher-3:-wild-hunt/br765873cqjd)

Click to buy the game, it will come up asking for Payment Method, then choose to add a gift card, enter your code from SeaGM in there and redeem, then you can buy the game using the credit.

Hope this helps, not sure if you may need a Russian billing address set up if you are a first timer, if so just use one from Google, like a Hilton in Moscow or something.

EDIT: Also, be sure to use Google Chrome, that way it will translate the page for you so you know what you are doing :smiley:
