What are the Xbox One S like connected to Wi-Fi ? My router is downstairs and don't want to waste money if it's going to be a poor connection. My internet speed is decent enough.

It all depends on your internet connection and router, xbox one s has nothing to do with unreliable connections it all comes down to router really. I have my xbox upstairs and get 37MBits/sec over wifi.
