maybe those people who can't afford £190-£200 quid+ for a console and £40-£50 odd quid for new games ?
maybe those people just want a console to play some games on a £25 quid would be spot on.
or aren't they allowed to play games ?

Good deal. If like me you're a gamer it doesn't matter what console you play on... gaming is gaming simple.. Been on playstation since 2009 and never had a 360... bought one 2 months ago and bought all Halo games and Gears of War games plus all others that didn't come to PS... Had a great time playing them and didn't cost much at all.

It's advisable to get the Xbox 360 S over the old 360 models but even then, there's a chance it'll get the red dot of death. My 360 S got the red dot after I rebooted the console since it froze when I was watching a DVD.
I'd thought that Microsoft had fixed the RRoD issue but they didn't. It's just less likely.
Anywho, a 360 for £24.99 is a great deal even if it only lasts a couple of months.

There's nothing wrong with it. And the games available for £3 ish are all bloody awesome! As for graphics, who cares? I still play Megadrive and Saturn games most days, and when the lads are round, Goldeneye 4 player on the N64. The graphics are **** by today's standards, but the gameplay kicks ass by today's standards. Today I've gone from FF XV on PS4 to playing Pokemon Yellow on my Gameboy Color. It never crossed my mind to turn it off because it wasn't HD!

There are loads of fantastic games for the 360, many of which can be bought for only a few pounds. There's literally hundreds of hours of entertainment to be had for less than 50 quid with this deal plus some cheap, second hand games.
Oh and "something to do with 1080p" is genuinely laughable when mentioning the current gen consoles. Remind me again, on how many games can the Xbox One only manage 900p @ 30fps (if that)?
Heat for deal btw, OP.

7 Dec 163#27
For those deriding the 360 because the Xbox One has better graphics etc, ask yourself why, if nobody wants to play the old games, are so many of them being made compatible with the Xbox One? The 360 may not be cutting edge but, like the PS3, it was host to some fantastic games that deserve to still be enjoyed.
If you never owned an Xbox 360 and want the chance to catch up on some real classics, this is a relatively cheap way of doing it. If I didn't already own two of 'em I'd be tempted myself.

If you want to do some competition I have almost 3 times more consoles than you and I still play on 360 and PS3. Some people are not that fortunate and can only afford 360 which is still a wonderful console especially for that price. Grow up.

Use an emulator, it'll probably be better. I play Shenmue 2 on Demul with a pad (Dreamcast emulator) in high definition and it runs like err.......a dream. Piece of cake to setup too.

7 Dec 162#30
Anyone saying the 360/ps3 are not worth playing are ridiculous, the 360/ps3 are 10x better Purley because of the game library to back them up. However in say 5-10 years when the xbone/ps4 has an extensive game library then they will be the superior consoles.
PS: Graphics isn't everything in a game I would much rather play old zelda games than a game running at 4k 120fps that consist of a blank room that says GAME in it.

this console and a copy of minecraft will keep most children occupied for days, as people have said, hundreds of cheap used AAA titles to be had for a few £'s each too.
some people have more important things to spend £200 on than a next gen console.

Yep!, this pre-dates Microsoft interest in backing the then up & coming LARRRRRRRGE Console powered HDD's at the time, etc? (even the PlayStation's of that original era were easily topping 80GB-160GB+?, so ..... )
Alllllll has since changed, yes, but that's today, hehe, yesterday was obviously wayyyyyyy different?. :-)
I wouldn't mind one of these cheap XBOX Consoles myself mind? (for just shy of £25?, it's a no-brainer!). :-)

You for real?
Xbox 360 was the home of great games when it was current. Because it's no longer the current generation, doesn't make its games less great.
My xbox one is my backwards compatible machine and my ps4 is for current titles.
The reason the ps4 or xbox one gets used is because people like buying newly released titles that you can't get on last gen.
because of 1080p graphics..... if that's the case, pc must be the place for great games for 1440p or 4k with your logic.

Funny you should say that I literally just found out about Demul 2 days ago, I have the tab pinned in chrome to try it out when i get a chance so I definitely will check it out. I've been playing on the Shenmue version of NullDC and it's pretty good overall.. worst thing is probably flickering hair textures so that's not too bad at all really.
Been looking at getting an original Xbox as I've never tried that version and it looks interesting the changes they made... although the English language dub is absolutely awful but luckily that can be modded
vulcanproject
7 Dec 161#51
Demul is probably the best and the most accurate DC emulator currently available for PC. Which also means it's one of the slowest and most demanding.
It's fine though on a modern quad core like an i5 2500k and up, anything decent from the Nvidia 500 series/Radeon 6000 or newer should give much better results and resolution than original hardware. If you have an ancient machine then you'll struggle, but I have something good so I can set like 5x native resolution in the options to make it render in HD and it is smooth and locks to 60FPS.
VMU setup is practically automatic, pad support works like a charm. I use either a Dual Shock 3 or an Xbone Elite. Any pad that works in Windows will do. I have played Daytona USA 2001 which has a few minor frame pace issues, Sonic Adventure, F355 challenge which work really well and Shenmue 2 recently. I even managed to force enable Anti Aliasing in the Nvidia control panel and that works as well without screwing up the renderer! One of my shots from Daytona, super smooth

Awesome that looks really good. Got a way overpowered pc so no probs running it. I'll definitely check it out asap. Does it use same format ROMs as nullDC? I was running them straight from .rar archives iirc.
I've got a Logitech G15 keyboard I was using just for nullDC because the screen can be used as a VMU which is pretty funny. Using X360 pad but might get a legit dreamcast one and usb converter for nostalgia sake

7 Dec 16#57
You made 3 points good enough to start an argument ,iPhone is a like Mercedes ,your paying for quality and luxury and Samsung and others is like a Nissan skyline it's just as good or better but much cheaper in term of looks or quality ,pc is twice as expensive ,bigger most of the time, more unreliable as more things can go wrong with it and it needs people with way too much time one their hand to playing around the parts ,you comparing a pc with console is like comparing a pc with a tablet, obviously the pc wins but the tablet is more practically adapted
