Are AliExpress trustworthy? also I heard that it's risky to buy these Chinese brands cos they're filled with Spyware to hack into your accounts, anyone had any issues like this?

I bought the Pepsi P1S a few months ago, only put a spare sim in it to try it out, put Kaspersky on it before doing anything and very glad I did. All kinds of stuff pops in there and Kaspersky was having a fit!!. I'm not tech savvy enough to sort it out and have not used it since, it's still 'resting' in it's box! It's a really lovely phone but I wish had stayed with my trusted moto

hi
I ordered my redmi note 3 from Aliexpress 4 months ago. Since then I have ordered about another 6 items and never had an issue either with the handset which I am very happy with or Aliexpress so I hope this reassures you.

Went for the Redmi 3s Prime. Would've snapped this up but 5.5" display is a deal breaker; it's just too damn big!

You also need to add in the warranty, you can't order from Aliexpress without it.
Good price but not unusual. Also, this is the X20 not X25 and custom roms are very limited with mediatek

There was an Aliexpress new customer voucher available at the weekend - I got $10 off my 32 gb Mi Max - delivered for £137, no warranty and either £13 or £17 Quidco depending if they notice that they've tracked the cashback in £ based on the $ value - and it's coming over the Himalayas on a donkey so shouldn't attract any customs attention as it sneaks into the UK.
Before anyone asks, its a voucher linked to my account so no discount code available.
Total customs value (CIF): £143.00
This is the amount that customs values your import at
- Duty: £0.00
- VAT: £28.60
Total import duty & taxes due: £28.60
This is the amount that needs to be paid to customs
- Product, shipping & insurance: £143.00
Total landed cost: £171.60
There might be an additional courier admin fee as well, see this thread as an example >
None if you chose the 10-20 days standard delivery. Ordered over 30 items from China and never paid any extra fees. My 2 Xiaomi note pro 3 international version just arrived today, I ordered from Aliexpress on the 11th Nov.

Ordered many many times from China (Aliexpress, Fasttech, Gearbest etc) using regular mail and NEVER been charged customs fees and associated charges. Used DHL twice and got charged 20% plus fee both times - there won't be a third!
Good price OP. It's Xiaomi however (you misspelled).

Ditto. If you want the very best chance of avoiding customs then it's the slow boat from China every time.
PS IF the Quidco pays out as per the figure quoted in the OP, this is an absolute beast of a bargain for the spec you are getting. Still a great deal if Quidco fails.

after custom duty and fees it will be around £180

Add £11 or £12 to the landed cost as admin fee. Better is to buy from EU delivery centre. Most of big Chinese sellers have UK distribution centres. Prices are higher but save time and hassle of paying customs etc. Anyway this phone is not worth the price due to missing UK bands. If I buy a phone, I want to use it as phone with fast 4g data speeds and not as tablet which will happen if phone does not have UK bands and no cat 12 Lte speeds with carrier aggregation.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Xaomi phones usually only support 4G LTE bands 1 (2100MHz), 2 (1900MHz), 3 (1800MHz), & 7 (2600MHz). Which means O2 used may not get 4G due to a lack of support for band 20 (800Mhz).
