Funny how ones taste improves when ones see the £ signs... the more expensive it is the better it must taste
That's not to dismiss all expensive wines some actually are great...but Aldi Lidl sell some excellent wines

Cheap is often not nasty.
E.G. Toro Loco (Aldi) is award winning in blind taste tests & less than £4 a bottle.

Both Aldi and Lidl have fast became known for sourcing generally better quality wines than the big supermarkets.
I would happily put that Claret against any supermarket Claret in a blind test and fully expect it to do well - and the Chardonay's are also as good as most.
Also, happy to recommend the Ripasso in Aldi (£7.99), or the Amarone in Lidl (£12.49) - not particularly cheap, but dashed nice.
Nevertheless, it seems Lidl are now starting to cater for every type of customer, and if you insist on judging a wine by it's price Lidl do have a particularly disappointing Barolo at £9.99.

The claret at £2.99 is good. Well worth buying a box or 2. Don't listen to the wine snobs on here. We all have different tastes. Merry Christmas and bottoms up!

Any decent Sauvignon Blancs at Aldi or Lidl that you recommend? My kiwi ones are getting more and more expensive in Asda and Tesco :disappointed:

The Andara Chilean sauvignon blanc at Aldi punches well above it's weight at £3.89. IMO it's an excellent drop - if you don't like it, you've only wasted < £4.

Aldi do a very nice French one for around £4.50 - not as good as Kiwi (which they also do) but better than most other new world ones (Chile usually the exception).

I think its one day only. The leaflet is showing "19 December" but not "from the 19 December" if you know what I mean.
