Down from £28 or so. Comes with Bluetooth remote as well. Seen similar on eBay for £14.99, but it's nice to pickup if you have one nearby. I will have a happy nephew and niece this year.

Thanks I'd forgotten about that horrendously irritating person that used to make me shout obscenities at the TV every Saturday night until she was finally and joyously booted out

If that is the case then you can get the exact same thing in poundland for 4 quid minus remote. i got one the other day. it just about gets the job done but bigger phones are a major squeeze and it has pathetic field of view. the phone is way too far away.

I got 2 of them in the shop. I was not anticipating people ordering online when I put this up, but that's a bonus I guess.
Certainly the shelf in Hemel Hempstead had around 20 or 30. If anyone does decide to go into their local store, it's worth asking. I noticed piles all around the shop so it would seem they have lots of stock and might be the same elsewhere.
But as for my next challenge, if anyone can recommend apps or games for iPhone or Android that might save me some time.

Defiantly not an online only deal and in fact that was my main reason for posting. Hard to order this close to xmas. Really surprised your local one did not have any at all. Did you ask?

Seems hot but I've got the Google Cardboard and haven't found anything decent in the Play Store to download that's not a gimmick or terrible. Can anyone suggest a decent app to try? And are these units worth it if you already have the Cardboard? Thanks.

This is what I've done. They were on the shelf behind the counter as well. And you can use new code SALE15 for 15% off.
Ok, This SALE15 code might not work. Give it a try. It might be only valid from 30/12/16-02/01/17.

Picked up my one today. iPhone users should note the remote only works for photos and music, it doesn't work as a controller for apps or games which is what you'll be using the headset for the most. Android users can use the controller for all uses so it's more beneficial for them. The headset itself is quite standard like all the other £5-£30 headsets out in the market.

I tried mine today and got mixed results. 1st of all there is no device code to set it up. To connect power and audio lead need to rotate phone so the wires come from the left hand side. Some games got writing upside down because of that. Remote seems to be useless, even adjusting volume works like ****. Anyone got tips what to do so i can enjoy it?

I'm pretty impressed by this, Cardboard isn't perfect and navigating around when it doesn't stay in VR mode is tricky, but the optics on this unit are a cut above the cheapie unit I bought my son and in particular much easier to adjust and focus whilst wearing.
With some very minor tweaks it fits my huge Nexus 6 well.

Another useful tip, there's no cardboard QR code with this unit. Without one the images are distorted, I found this site, listing QR codes for many different VR headsets, the VR Box 2 one works perfectly (http://www.hypergridbusiness.com/faq/vr-headset-qr-codes/).
If you want to see the difference, download this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.anrael.vrcc&hl=en_GB) using generic settings the straight lines will appear curved as you move around, and the cube you are within will be distorted. Scan the QR code into the cardboard app, then run it again and you will see the cube is now perfect and straight lines don't develope curves as you look around.
