my desk has a back to it so im not able to use clamp fittings =[ would anyone have ideas for alternative methods

if you can drill a hole, this also supports that option.
it comes with a second clamp that fits through a small hole in the desk surface

Depending on how attached you are to the desk, you could use a hole saw drill bit for the back to make room for the clamp.
This is the standard price for these monitor arms. I've bought VonHaus monitor arms before and never had any issues.

Go for the double over clamps. As most cheap desks are not strong enough.
I went from two (Scan) to the three monitor arm with VonHaus (both stands). Very good product. Only regret is I don't have 3 eyes :smiley:

Not voting either way. Besides the brand, this (link below) is also cheaper and comes with a 5 year guarantee. However, the link above looks very similar and is £2 cheaper but it only has a 2 year warranty.
