Nothing mentioned on the website yet, but just had an email stating it starts on 28th, "be up bright and early" so guessing it will start early morning or even at midnight. The last 2 sales they did were fantastic, you could book Thur/Fri/Sun/Mon nights at £20 for the room, super large luxury room many hotels brand new buildings, oldest ones 20 years old. Large pool, sauna, jacuzzi, Blackpool even has a large heated outdoor pool. Also cashback Quidco/TCB usually about 10%.

Love this chain especially the Club Rooms for a bit of extra luxury. I have booked a Club Room in our local hotel with breakfast for 2 for one night for every month of the year. I know that may sound a little sad, but for £20 each in a very cosy room with breakfast and the indulgence of the pools / etc I think its great value.

Thankyou Op.

I was looking earlier to see if the sale had started yet, cheers for the heads up. Usually stay at Blackpool but thinking of trying Chester for a change.

I was looking at booking for Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Blackpool or Manchester. Is this £10 per night or £20 per night. Also do they sell family rooms as it would be for 2 adults and 2 children.
Kacey0409
26 Dec 16 #2
It's usually £20 per night based on 2 adults sharing however I was able to add 2 infants onto my booking without any extra charges last time but once you start putting children over 2 years old on the booking it charges you full price.

Thanks for the heads up. Stayed at Blackpool for the first time a week ago, had a great time. Got a stay in Newcastle booked for Feb (Black Friday offer), might treat myself to another weekend or two later in the year if the offer is decent.

Yes, for families this becomes not much of a deal compared to premier inn or Travelodge. But great for a couple, I've always liked village hotels and some have excellent facilities.

Doesn't seem to give you the option to put infants on this time as when i add children onto search price goes up to £115. It does say in their ts and cs that infants stay free and travel cots provided where room allows. Iv just booked for 2 adults and Gunna call and make them aware I have infants. The last time I booked and was able to add infants on myself, the booking confirmation still only said 2 adults so when I called to query they said it's because infants aren't actually classed as people for booking purposes!

This is the worst, glitchy, slow, incorrect website I've ever used. Even the T&Cs are incorrect, they state the offer is for Thu, Fri, Sun, Mon but I saw £25 rooms on a Tue and Wed, it's hard to believe the booking period is until the 06.12.17. I previously received an email from Village Hotels telling me ths sale started at 9am but didn't receive the link to the sale from them until 11:08am! I got booked online eventually, three consecutive nights in Glasgow. The final payment screen appeared again but I checked my email and the booking was confirmed! I had problems with the boxes asking for 'Your Address' and 'Address 1' - just what is the difference?

If they can't maintain a useable website why do they keep changing the offer. Last Nov it was simply a straight £20 a room offer with rooms until May, and it took me several attempts to book online. This Nov it was a confusing book 2 nights inc breakfast based on 50% reduction per night, but the website showed individual nights already discounted – every hight was priced differently and they were increasing quickly. This can't have shifted enough rooms so they have changed it to a £25 room plus £5 breakfast for 2, lasting all year surprisingly.

Was about to book a family room for £25 and lady on phone told me that if you bring 2 kids its £15 extra per child so totalling £55...its quite misleading as had to scroll through terms n conditions to find their child policy

Children are classed as 2-12 years old. Children are charged from between £15 - £30 per night, per hotel, dependant on product booked (e.g. B&B or Dinner,B&B).

i don't drive and I've been to Edinburgh , Glasgow, Blackpool, london Watford and Farnborough all are accessible without car. best two are Edinburgh and Glasgow which are both only a mile - 1.5 miles out of city centres on very frequent bus routes in Edinburgh's case 24hour buses every day. london Watford is served by 24hour trains (but then would be 2mile walk or taxi ride after 1am, buses to hotel until 1am)

I have to agree, Stayed in Glasgow several times. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Bought two £50 vouchers yesterday for £25 each, also reserved two rooms on separate days. 25 quid for a bed for the night in a really lovely hotel and 50 quid's worth of food and drink for 25 quid. I should have posted it myself as this is a great deal.

It probably says on the confirmation that although it's a family room for 2 ad + 2ch that the booking is for 2 persons. When you add additional people it charges an extra £15 each.

A bit misleading to say the least when it lets you select a family room sleeping up to 4 people. I think we will have to call the hotel and add them on as don't want to risk it. I object to paying £15 each for such young kids though!!
panddda
29 Dec 16 2 #214
I honestly wouldn't bother - reading their FB page lots of people complain about this and they always make them pay as its in the T&Cs you 'agreed' to when making the booking. I'd be far more inclined to just wing it and hope for the best, and if the worst comes to the worst, they'll charge you the extra on arrival, and you can say that you thought it was clear from the booking as you booked a family room, website problems and crashes etc must have caused it, but more likely than not they won't even notice, especially if you use the app to check in. That's my plan anyway!

Booked two rooms now one for my birthday in February and one for the wifes birthday later on in May.
Just come back from the Leeds South on the black Friday deal and had two rooms for 1 adult and 1 child in each room at £96 for two nights with breakfast, not sure you can beat it for that price.
Used to be Travelodge and Premier Inn were the cheapest chain but when you take into account the meals and vouchers available these are much better value at present, as they also include leisure facilities.
Homepage still doesn't appear to show this deal, but if you use the code "TACA" when searching for rooms that will bring up this deal.

A word of warning. We have been to the Bournemouth one. Foyer and public areas are quite nice but the bedrooms, where do i start. We had booked a family room and advised we would get a double and 2 singles.

When we arrived it was a different story. They gave us family room with a double bed and a sofa bed for 2 midgets. Not only that there was enough room to put a 3rd bed in the room because the room was so small, so they squeezed a single mattress in. This meant climbing over each other to use the loo. Joke, i mean this wasnt a cheap hotel as it was at the height of the summer. The first room we were provided had a couple romantically engaged in it.
The floor under the beds was disgusting too. Oh, and there was a fracas/fight with a hen night and a family in the restaurant.
They also have a nightclub in the hotel that goes on late, so good luck with your sleep
Rooms are like saunas
I dont ask for much in a hotel - clean, decent quality beds and decent friendly service

No, i wont be going back. Not even for £25 in the middle of summer; i would rather sleep in my car

I really wouldn't recommend the club room. You're paying £10 for a tassimo machine and a quasi-sky experience with loads of channels missing. Movie channels but if you have free now TV you can watch on iPad or laptop if you take that. (By the way you can't attach a NOW box to village TVs as the ports are against the wall. Some hotels you can!).

You get the same bed, same large 42" TV with HD channels, same en-suite, leisure access (I use night when. Arriving and use it for shower at lunchtime when leaving). Also if there is anything wrong with room or noisy people next door etc, ring reception and they move you to a club room free no problem.
anthony69
3 Jan 17 #269
The TV is definitely smaller in the standard rooms.

In the Club rooms you get a big one as part of the package.
eld1985
3 Jan 17 #270

boyaloud
3 Jan 17 1 #271
ts still huge by hotel standards in the normal rooms. most hotels still have 19-22 inch TVs
noahsdad
3 Jan 17 #272
If you try and book, there is no mention of a bathroom in the standard room. The main advertised perks of the upgrade room are ensuite bathroom, bottled water, gym access, bigger TV. Can only go by the info on the actual site when booking? Appears there is no bathroom with standard room... they would be mentioning it if there was surely?
panddda
3 Jan 17 #273
There is absolutely 100% definitely a bathroom/shower room of some sort in every room, just an upgraded one in club rooms. I promise!!
noahsdad
3 Jan 17 #274
Okay cheers for the info that is a help... probably favouring a cheapo standard room for what I am looking at. They are likely withholding the standard room bathroom info to entice people to upgrade. Not planning on watching telly when away with the wife and the bottled water is no great loss, especially if there is a sink in the room!

Possibly the best perk is the breakfast for £2.50 per person seeing is all you can eat. Would normally cost £10.

3 Jan 17 1 #275
the standard rooms are about a hundred times more luxurious than premier inn and Travelodge certainly! the bathroom's the same. all chain hotels have been fully en-suite for a good 20 years now. the only annoying thing with this chain is 11am checkout when again much more basic Travelodge has been 12 for 25+ years . however if you ask at reception they usually extend it until 12 for free. I use pool are for shower anyway as it has luxurious changing rooms with about 15 showers in nice cubicles with shower gel and shampoo etc. loads of hairdryers. machine to spin dry your trunks. carrier bags to put wet trunks in (stock up - free bags). I take luxury loo rolls from room.

Very good offer, booked a 1 night stay in their Swansea hotel for thursday just gone on this offer (thanks OP!) - £25 for room & £5 for breakfast.

Had an email a few days before asking if I would like to upgrade to a club room, and if so, make them an offer. Offered £7 (I was happy with a basic room but as it was a random night away thought why not), which got accepted - so £37 all in

Hotel was very nice, in a great location! TV was huge (47/48"), room very spacious and one of the comfiest hotel beds we've slept in.
Leisure facilities also very good & breakfast covered all options.

Have booked up a few more nights, thanks again OP

The hotel is literally straight onto a very quiet ( new) dual carriageway, which is 10 mins in a straight line to the excellent park and ride. Buses every 7 mins. £2 return ticket. Under 16s totally free. Takes 5-10 min into Chester. The hotel seemed to be at the far end of a mini retail / business park, but we spent all our time in Chester when we were there. I did notice though that the car park next to the race course , on a non Racing day, was almost empty, so could've parked there. Would've cost more than £2 though, and tbh, it was no bother using the park and ride.

I am not a driver and the best way to get into Chester and back I found was to skirt around Ewloe, past the Co"op and head foe the junction at Woodlane. There's a bus stop about a 10 minute walk in that direction, You need to walk alongside the park. I think a weekly ticket is about 12 quid. To be honest, if on a late night out and don't want to pay for a taxi, maybe a train to Shotton then a walk to St David's Park may be viable.

As for the hotel, it was okay but a bit dated. The problem with it is that the rooms were quite noisy, especially on the ground floor.

There are even ajoining doors between rooms that have been locked and I assume somewhat soundproofed although if so, they weren't particularly well soundproofed.

I've stayed at a newer one in Watford and although it was a bit out of town it was a lot better.

Does anyone know if this deal always happens wnd of year?
Also does the hotel run similar deals throughout the year?

Sometimes. You just have to look out for it. The old deal was better as it was £20 although you could only book Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Occasionally they do £65/night for two with a three course meal I think.
