I got one of these refurb off ebay a few years ago and they work really well have done familys carpets as well as my own without too much trouble just please remember to empty after use because it will stink next time you use it.

These are really good, bought one a few months ago when MSE gave out a code. It seems to use the heat generated by the motor to help to dry the carpet which speeds up the drying process. The separate cleaner liquid section is also useful so you aren't stuck with the diluted mixture. Heat from me!
