I think it shows you recognise that the deal has been posted before, that you realise people may have seen this in the past and preempts the comments pointing this out.

It's useful information. Yes. It reminds people of a deal they've seen. A 'deal' by definition can only be such if a transaction is possible. Out-of-stock means no transaction, no deal.
