Co-op survival mode comes out next week also (for free), so it's good timing for anyone that hasn't played the game yet and is also interested in the online portion of the game.

Nah, it's free. All multiplayer DLC stuff are unlocked via chests/crates which you buy with Relics (Relics are earned from challenges and completing games). You can buy individual stuff if you want though.

Maps/modes are available to everyone right away.

Heat added, been looking for a cheap digital version, time to sell the disc version and recoup my outlay. Thanks for the CD keys heads up to, saved a coupla more quid :smiley:

Not really a 'tool' I think the game is good but not brilliant. That's just my opinion though

Well Not £20 but I'm sure Argos had it around that price. I know CEX have it for £22. Just I'm more of a physical person.

Why would you expect that? Even the PS5 remaster won't be 60fps. The way people act like PS4 pro is a completely separate system from PS4 is really funny.

So PS4 Pro is pointless unless you have a 4K screen.

Now I've had my dinner I can give you a longer answer.

Firstly I will acknowledge it's partially my fault for not doing the research on the PS4 Pro and the games that run at 1080p/60FPS. I've been "out of the loop" as far as console gaming for a long time. I'd looked forward to the Christmas sales for a reasonably priced gaming system that could compete with low end PC gaming systems without the hassle. I heard of PS4 Pro and the line, "2x faster GPU", saw the Very offer and made haste to get it.

Now, in my experience upgrading the hardware of my PC (or in my case Mac) has always boosted frame rates. If the PS4 could run the game at 30FPS, I thought a doubly powerful graphics chip would get me 60FPS. Unfortunately yes, it seems real world gameplay that's not the case and Naughty Dog weren't able to achieve this.

Why would I expect it on this particular game? I had some expectation given this is quite a recent release, is a PS4 exclusive and in a way one of Sony's "showcase" titles, and the fact that they're offering it as one of the 12 deals, I would've thought they'd want to promote games particularly for the PS4 Pro but it looks like this isn't one of them. I somehow at regret not having gotten Rise of the Tomb Raider in the sale which is said to at least give some even if minor frame rate benefit on 1080p.

If possible I will return my PS4 Pro but I'm annoyed at the hassle and potential incompetence of Yodel/Very.

There are some benefits with a PS4 Pro and UC4 on a 1080p screen, like the Multiplayer has been upgraded from 900p to 1080p, also for the campaign it will render at the highest resolution and downscale the super-sampled image to 1080p, resulting in noticeably crisp and smooth graphics.

No point of PS4 pro when PS5 will release in a year or two. The person who leaked the PS4 pro before anyone knew it existed also said PS5 will release either late 2017 or early 2018 and said Sony will use the Apple reveal model of releasing very shortly after announcement. I think its credible as it was always stated this gen would be much shorter than usual. You people who bought PS4 pro got played.

Not at all, like PC gaming the developer gives you options to upscale res, increase graphical fidelity or improve fps. The developer decides so games with good developers should support better frame rates and improved graphics on the PRO, the big benefit is HDR not 4K but is commonly only available on newer 4K sets. Rise of the tomb raider offers all of this on pro, and horizon zero dawn will likely take advantage along other games released in the future or patched. The pro is twice as powerful as PS4 so when more developers get on board you should see a big graphical difference like you would on PC switching from low to high settings on 1080p.

The question is WHEN WILL DEVELOPERS GET ON BOARD? Moreover, why do developers even need to release "patches" to up the FPS? Whenever I've upgraded my hardware the FPS improvement came with zero need for any of this patching business. More worryingly, Sony are BLOCKING developers from enabling a higher target frame rate on competitive multiplayer games! Madness

I agree, I think people are peed off enough with the release of the pro considering most already bought a PS4 and now it isn't the best thing but to have others with a fps advantage in multiplayer because they own the pro would be the icing on the cake I guess. I can only assume they will ease into it. hopefully.

But that is life, you pay more and you get a better experience. It's crazy to prevent developers making use of the extra power. The PC competitive gaming scene is far larger and yet everyone understands that the better the hardware you pay for, the smoother the experience you get and it's never been a problem! Let's not forget there are many other factors such as ping, controller interference, TV latency/refresh rate, that potentially create imbalance. 4K could also create imbalance - let's say you're a sniper looking around for teeny tiny targets, they'll obviously be easier to see at a higher resolution. It doesn't make sense for Sony to limit developers with frame rate.

​So what? This deal is clearly described as for the digital version and there are plenty of us who prefer the convenience of not having to swap discs all the time over the luxury of trading in at CEX.

They already confirmed no fps advantage for online games between each other allowed only case you would say improved but realistically hardly an improvement is a mear 10fps boost for Pro battlefield 1 multiplayer.
This is nothing especially on PC where you have people playing 30,60,120 fpses

Yes, as long as you use the PSN account you purchased with it will always be available in your library.

PC will always have an advantage as you can cater your specs to however powerful you want but the PRO is new and developers will learn to use the power like they have with all consoles. Think how amazing later PS3 games looked compared to the early ones. I also think 10fps is a lot, could be the difference between playable.



I don't think 4K will give an advantage unless you sit close or have a massive TV, some of the extra detail is kept on 1080p supersampling aswell but as you say there is an an advantage with latency and ping and that does make fps a mute point really in the UK with such inconsistent internet connection speeds. Maybe Sony have designed the pro in a world they believe is equal lol. The new controller allows for wired zero latency for instance, but then you can buy them for the regular PS4. As far as TVs go then you either buy a Sony or you hook the pro to a Monitor for the best input lag but again there are too many variables. They should have just uncapped the fps on games.. lol.

Well they are rather good looking, but the only thing which might be a new feature is the speed-run mode (I didn't play any more than a demo on PS3, so I'm not sure). So it's up to you! But unless you absolutely love the series I don't think there's any reason to buy again, just go for number 4.

I completely agree with you and I hated myself for about ten minutes buying one because I got it cheap thanks to this site lol. Now I'm over it and enjoy the extra USB port, bigger HDD and a bit more eye candy on compatible games.
