750g tub of celebrations only £3 in my local spar so not sure if national checked on website and advises to check your local spar for deals seems a good deal since the Tesco one was two tubs for £7

From the user who posts "deals" from Aliexpress in Hong Kong, where all of the affluent dignitaries shop.
Of course it's a joke. It's got a build up and everything. And I do volunteer and yesterday we gave out masses of extras. There were loads of gifts of toys, too, so families that came in with kids we'd get a parent to go in and take what they wanted and made up a bag with them so they could take them home without the kids knowing. One woman was crying her eyes out because she didn't have anything for the kids before that and was dreading Christmas day.

They do not sell booze nor handle any alcohol at the DC (In fact not even allowed to help M&S guys because totes may contain alcohol) nor in any company owned stores.

Henderson's who own spar in northern Ireland are hypocrites. They won't sell scratch cards or lottery tickets but will sell booze & fags. Christians my ass, good living for a living.
Well that's one way to get people to stop donating lol

At the food bank where I sometimes volunteer things like chocolates are often donated and being as there's no distribution rule for things like that we just add boxes or bags to each package as its made up for each person. This year donations of treats has been huge so we were giving out to each person a box of mince pies, a few selection boxes, a chocolate orange or a box of shortbread. Or if we saw something we fancied ourself we'd just take them home.

All have to sell the "core" promotions at that price regardless of who owns. Yes it will be regional but in the UK our regions are literally N.Ireland and then Mainland UK (Scotland has some variations because of drink laws). Other stores within those regions may have extra promotions on top of those core promotions for arranging bulk buying or not using stock appreciation and keeping some promotions on for longer. Most stores are now company owned which centrally maintained pricing, the larger format stores branded "Eurospar" will be cheaper than most normal stores as they also price match Tesco on core product lines.
Tesco 2 for £7 only was on the celebrations and when Spar N.Ireland ran the 2 for £7 as part of our 12 deals of Christmas it included the Hero's and Roses.

Lol at the people crying because they couldn't save £2(?) on mediocre chocolate. The type of people that would spend £2 worth of fuel to get the deal, rather than pick one up at RRP when out.

My comment was meant to reflect the fact that larger chains that aren't franchised tend to offer nationwide consistency with regards to pricing, and that symbol groups tend to vary their prices greatly depending on the region you're in.
I'll certainly check for the offer in my local Spar tomorrow, but I will be doubtful I'll see it.
EveshamLad
21 Dec 16#71
Nisa & Premier, as a couple of the examples you quote, do have the same prices across their stores particularly for special offers.
And this deal has now been found in two seperate Spar stores in two seperate towns. What more do you want?

Hmm, not voting either way. Spar is a symbol group, just like Premier, Costcutter, Nisa, Lifestyle Express amongst others. Stores set their own prices based on who owns it. Think of Spar like a franchise business model. Can't honestly see such a deal rolled out to loads of stores.

Fortunately 4 of them all appear to be on or very close to the A183 and the other on a parallel road.

The best part of 3000 SPAR stores in the U.K and they change the deal title to 'found in Sunderland branch'?! There's probably 5 in Sunderland alone.

No idea why his one remains
This was the reason they gave for the Tesco deal
It was only after the OP of that one admitted it never existed was the deal taken off the deals board (having already bbecome hottest deal of the week)
The Tesco "Deal" could have been Galactic - It didn't exist
This deal appears to be local (from HUKD posting evidence) - so for HUKD voting purposes - it shouldn't exist
When this deal doesn't exist the comparison will be complete
The OP mentioned the Sunderland Spar as the source - so it should be in the deal title BEFORE voting takes place - otherwise all votes are null and void

Not a true comparison since Tesco deal was national and this so-called Spar one is probably in some corner of this country if you can find that particular one.
