Seems a good price as it looks as if these were £23ish recently.
Available at Currys too same price but if Argos is better...go for it.
My 2 sons are constantly complaining about being disconnected from games etc so hopefully these will do the trick.
Anyone have these can comment whether these are good for gamers with connection to internet issues appreciated.

If I already have a setup of one connected into my router and one on my tv box would I need to connect another one into my router to connect to my CCTV or just use these to connect to my original setup or could I just use a Ethernet switch box?

No. They should work from the same internet source, i.e. the router. At least, that's how my plugs work.

I had the av200s which all blew capacitors and were replaced foc by Amazon for av500s but the av600's I bought later with gigabit port are faultless

Weird. I had issues previously with the AV500 which were resolved by a firmware update. I also have AV600 and they have been rock solid. I have a much higher sync rate than you though so perhaps they are sensitive to the house wiring quality?

Hi these are good i must say, but only when they are working fine which in my case is very rare.Constantly loosing connection in 6 year old house being just 5 meters away from each other.I dont recommend upgrading firmware on them as this is going to make it even worse.If these are no good for you i would recommend to buy one of these WiFi extenders as i find them to be more reliable. Got to sets of them powerlines one a bit better with WiFi extender and if you look online you will find that TpLink in USA is giving the money back but not in UK

Fully agree. I bought a pair of these 600s to replace my ageing 200mbps tp-link kit and although effective sync speed increased from 80mbps to 130mbps, the reliabilty of connection went down the pan. Nothing but constant annoying disconnections and resyncing, making it unusable for gaming, teamspeak, skype, vpns etc. Came back to the old 200s and problem was solved. Not recommended.
Are 1000, 1200 or 2000 series suffering from the same disconnection/resyncing issues?

FYI, if you find the AV500 model on discount/clearance anywhere, they are physically the same and can be flashed up to the AV600 speed with the latest firmware - they would effectively be the same product for less.

Yup, if you used this to connect a single desktop PC to Virgin media 200Mbps connection then you will be limited, If it was just to connect a smart TV though or something similar, it probably wouldn't be a bottleneck though as the TV may be limited to a 100Mbps Ethernet port but more likely, you would not have a single service on the TV that would get close to using 100Mbps. Also, anything connected directly to the router via Ethernet or Wireless would not be impacted by the powerline adaptors and they could already be using up half or more of your 200Mbps connection.
It all depends on what you are using your connections for but for someone who is moving a LOT of data around on their home network or maxxing out their 200Mbps Internet connection, adaptors with a 1Gbps Ethernet port makes more sense and is worth the investment.

You really need to view this link, to get a good idea of what they are capable of, I think this one is around 45-60Mbps you can double or triple this per connection if required with the newer ones - dependant on wiring of course. Powerline reviews
I have the 6010 kit bought at a reasonable price which is gigabit but we stream Netflix, movies/music/radio from a NAS and Online gaming as well as web, upto 4 rooms in a house.

Yep! I like to post something like this on every one of these threads. Fxck knows how they get away with it. Maybe the chip on the inside has a maximum theoretical throughput of 600Mbps? Maybe they straight up just made it up because it's more than the 500Mbps their competitors were advertising...
Either way these things are pretty good for most uses and WAY better than WiFi if you're in a different room than your router.
Again though as mentioned in every thread it'll depend on the quality of your wiring.

That's why I bought the Netgear PL1000 which has gigabit interface. It was a deal here £24.99 for a pair, much better.

This comes up every time. 600Mbps is the maximum speed of the power line network these can support. The Ethernet port is capped at 100Mbps but that is just a single entry point into the network. Run a few of these in your house and even though each may be passing through 100Mbps, the network could still use up to 600Mbps.

FFS, because, if they made the thruput 100mbps, and you had multiple devices drawing data, the thruput would drop to share the load. Furthermore, you would probably only see 60mbps anyway. There.

Anything coming from the router - in most cases the Internet connection would be limited to 100Mbps. This will not be a limitation for the vast majority.
It is dependent on use cases. Image you have 4 devices all connected via home plugs. Now device 1 is sending data to another device (2) as fast as the port allows - that is 100Mbps. Now a device 3 is sending data to device 4 as fast as 100Mbps. The powerline network at this time is operating at 200Mbps. Add more adapters and devices and you could potentially use up the full 600Mbps. Sure, the Internet connection from your router would be limited to 100Mbps across the powerline network but there are many uses for a powerline network and not all involve the internet connection from your router. I've over simplified the maths a bit but hope this helps.

Ok, but seeing as you have to feed one of these from your router via the ethernet port on the plug itself, if that port is capped at 100MB, how could you ever get more than 100MB in total running round the network from just a single plug by your router?

Personally, I'd recommend powerline plugs with a pass-through power socket built-in. That way, you can get a powerline plug into a wall-socket along with something plugged into the passthrough part.

I have these exact ones and bought them for the same reason you have and can tell you they are really good, I live in a fairly poor area for internet. Because my PS4 was other end of the house to the router I was lucky to get 2mb, with these I get almost the exact same speed as I would being plugged directley into the back of the router (which for me is like 8mb).
I am thinking of buying some more for my computer and TV. Dont forget one needs to be plugged in next to the router so if your 2 sons are on two different consoles you will need a 2nd pack of these. Avoid plugging them into an extension cable as this limits them, they work best plugged directley into the socket which is its only really negative if you struggle for plug space already.
