"Tony Robinson is a much-loved actor, presenter and comedy icon. His career has lasted over fifty years, taking him from child stardom in the first stage production of Oliver! through a series of sometimes riotous misadventures before he landed the role of Baldrick, loyal servant and turnip aficionado in Blackadder.
Along the way he was bullied by Steve Marriott, snubbed by Liza Minnelli, and was pushed into a stinking London dock by John Wayne. He infuriated Rex Harrison, wrote and starred in Maid Marian and Her Merry Men, and created national outrage in the cutting-edge comedy series Who Dares Wins, before exposing his bits in the live touring show with great aplomb. He also presented Time Team for twenty years, coralling a group of quirky, opinionated academics as they ruthlessly dug up countless gardens in the name of archaeology.
Now, in his long-awaited autobiography, he also reveals his passions and commitments, writes about his friends and family, and describes the sadness of losing both his parents to dementia. Packed full of incident and insight, No Cunning Plan is a funny, self-deprecating and always entertaining read."

I'm not in the least surprised when daily mail is the best selling paper in the UK.

Very good read. Though he entirely misses out any reference to his aforementioned brother, Tommy. Perhaps embarrassed by him?

Ah Tony Robinson the multi multi millionaire socialist, said we should take refugees but wont have them in house quaffing his champagne or fingering his lobster. Ha

Yawn yawn yawn. Can't have an opinion because he's made some money. I'm so tired of idiots going on about champagne socialists. And if you knew anything about Mr Robinson you would know that he does put his money where his mouth is.

He waves his lovely red flag when the marches are on, after quaffing lobster with his millionaire tax dodging friends I would imagine.

Yes his money is off-shore like the rest of the champagne socialists. Wonder how many Syrian migrant children he will be taking in? (well they might get a tent in his back garden, but out of sight of the neighbours)

Ah when someone has a firm grasp of the refugee crisis by referring to them as migrants, you know they have thought deeply about their Facebook feed imspired opinions.
Refugee difficulties are a serious issue demanding thoughtful and caring responses from the British public, and I'm not talking restrictions based on age of refugee or nationality. Opinions like your one listed above do nothing to help in the debate, but further divide the country based on personality over issues. Bravo old chap!

Merkel has done it right, open door policy with zero checks seems to be paying dividends for the people who really want to divide society...the terrorists, burying your head in the sand won't help although it will avoid making difficult decisions,

Excellent response! Don't know how you thought open door policy with zero checks was what I meant by thoughtful response. A little reading up on the issues may help with your formation of opinions:
http://www.unhcr.org/1951-refugee-convention.html - you will find information on the refugee convention and classifications. In particular look at Article 1(F)(b), which if you had done your homework would remind you that terririst offences exclude one from the definition of a refugee. You can see Note on the Exclusion Clauses
EC/47/SC/CRP.29 opinion of the UNHCR.
You may also wish to read up on the German policy towards refugees. "zero checks" is an ignorance of reality by yourself, not the German state. You may also want to question whether running the risk of a few bad apples versus humanitarian crisis on the border is a given conclusion, or worthy of at least some debate!
