Thanks for the reply, and I appreciate that they aren't responsible for my internet (wired Virgin Media super-ultra-mega fast fibre optic).
I suppose I was trying (at rather greater length that was strictly necessary) to make two points:
1.
This is not GTA. From the marketing, people buying presents might think that this is a typical shoot-em-up campaign. It's not - for me, it was a slow, thankless grind through repetitive stages without any real sense of progress. Again, for me, it's unplayable as a single-player campaign. So I was just flagging that for people still on the fence.
2.
I really hope that games follow the lead of The Division into sprawling, multiplayer sandboxes with little coherent story and a demand for constant internet (even in single-player mode). I don't see what it adds, and it will mean that a lot of people who don't have - or can't access - fast internet are left out of the experience altogether.
Anyway, I hope anyone buying it gets their £12 worth. Personally, I bought it new and sold it after a couple of days.
And, in case I don't get another chance to say so, Merry Christmas, Turkey! Keep up the good work in 2017!

Same feeling here. I loved the TC games, but this just isn't one. It's what I describe to my friends as "Borderlands : Modern combat".
It's not a terrible game. it's just way too grindey and there's not really many tactical elements to it. Once you are seen, everyone seems to know where you are. What annoyed me more (and made me compare to borderlands) is that some enemies become bullet sponges purely because they have a larger number over their head. There should never have been a TC game made where it takes me a whole clip to kill a guy with just a hoodie for protection!
It's not terrible, but it isn't what they promised in their original trailers. Hoping Wildlands will rectify this!
It's the only game I have *ever* traded in.
Good price though. Really tempted by dishonored 2, but I dunno if i should jsut pay a fiver more for the limited edition

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Blasted easily 50 hours into it so £12.85 is a steal. Just wish the dlc was so darn expensive to finish the experience.

I don't think your internet dropping is their fault. It's never once dropped for me on PC or Xbox One. (Virgin 200mb)

I have (PS4) I'd say it's worth £13. Just make sure to do side quests/missions to level up first as some of the main missions are challenging, even with teammates

This might not help - but I've never felt more conflicted about a game.
For what it's worth, I never play multiplayer - I just play the solo campaigns on COD or Battlefield or whatever. So I'm only commenting on my single-player experience.
The setting is great, and very atmospheric. In theory, it's a great sandbox to play in.
However, you should know from the start that this game REQUIRES an internet connection to work. Without a network connection, you literally cannot play. If your internet at home goes down, or breaks up, you cannot play. There is no "offline" single player. You might like to know this before spending even £12.
I found the game to be pointless, frustrating, repetitive and occasionally impossible. They really shouldn't sell this as a "single player" game, as it is all but impossible on your own. You will play through the same fights, over and over again, getting nowhere, just dying and dying and dying and dying. And then your internet connection will drop and the game will kick you off. And then you'll reset your router and try again. And die again. And again.
If you ever make any progress, you will encounter the same pointless enemies over and over and over again.
And you'll spend hours rummaging around in bins like some kind of digital homeless person, looking for ever-so-slightly better gloves. I mean, really. Life is short, people.
Maybe with a bunch of mates or random others online, this could be a laugh. You can go and kill each other in the "dark zone" (or whatever it's called), which basically everyone tells you not to enter because you'll die and die and die and die. And someone else will get those slightly-better gloves.
I really wanted to like this game. I didn't. This is not GTA or Assassin's Creed in New York or COD or anything. It's just awful.
More than anything, I began to resent the developers for insisting on constant internet connection. I just don't like where this takes games. Maybe WOW or other games are already like this, but they don't pretend otherwise.
Anyway, watch the reviews on YouTube and decide if this is your sort of thing. But don't be fooled into thinking that this is a great, dark, snowy version of GTA. It's not. It's pish. And you don't need those gloves. Go outside and enjoy the world instead.

The Community is still really active and engaging. I never wait more than a few seconds to find a co-op team for raids/missions and the DarkZone is always packed.
