Depends how you shop. I go for a lot of everyday value products which are often cheaper than the same products at Lidl's with colour labels and Tesco do a lot of offers including half price and I like trying different food when its on offer. I often wait for coupons and vouchers anyway. Often using bonus clubcard point offers I can come away with £2's worth of points which when used at a restaurant etc is £8 off. I much prefer the quality of Tesco as well overall. When I worked it out I was actually paying less at Tesco than Lidl not that Tesco would appreciate how I shop with them. I totally agree that if you go into Tesco and just pay their normal prices compared to Lidl avoiding the everyday value range then you will have paid a lot more. You often see Lidl's or Aldi's comparable shop savings advertised but they never fill it with everyday value items its always branded goods which seems unfair to say the least.

it's by....and I never stated I was given them. I see it as an almost stamp saving scheme that you can still do at places like Iceland. Rather than save £1 or two every week. I shop as normal and at the end of the year have a nice little sum to buy Christmas things. It helps.

You do realise you aren't given points, but instead buy them buy paying Tesco's higher prices don't you?

Sadly the 39p will not be in all Express stores. Instead there will be other price reductions across the products.

The comment about the veg is party based on potatoes which I know are being light treated to make them go off faster. I've actually seen loose ones being brought out of the back of the store, and half of them when opened had turned green.
If I get them from the potato merchant they last about 2 months.

What would be the point of spuds being light treated unless you wanted to sprout them for planting? Forget your conspiracy theory. There's a far simpler explanation. The people responsible for looking after the fruit and veg haven't a clue how to look after it properly, and probably don't realise that potatoes, when exposed to light, will turn green and start to produce alkaloids which may be toxic.
Some of them are hard pressed to get tins on a shelf without knocking seven bells out of them.

exactly, lidl and aldi are cheaper but seem to be void of the 'ripping off farmers' comments. Tesco for some reason seems to be the big bad supermarket who always screws the farmers with prices. Would rather support UK supermarket

spare a though for the farmers who are being bullied into providing this veg at a loss, or else lose Tesco as a customer.

Wheres your evidence for that and why focus on Tesco when Lidl's is actually doing it cheaper?
Looks like Tesco is going down the fake brand route same as Lidl and Aldi with 'Redmere Farms' unless there actually is such a brand.
Whatever, some great prices at Tesco and Lidl for veg, voted hot.

I shop with Asda online and I'm assuming they will price match this. I remember last year my local Asda Hypermarket on Christmas Eve had pallets and pallets of the stuff outside their store.

2 days for veg? No wonder the big supermarkets are finding people are moving to smaller shops more often! If they cannot provide veg which stays fresh for more than 2 days then they're doing something very wrong. Most Veg should last at least a week, and more if it's stored properly

the date thing is to show how many days (minimum) you get on your veg if you buy online

I do the same  just shy of £100 in clubcard points so its not that much but should get Christmas dinner and a drink or 2  every little helps, apparently! If I am totally honest, its only the points that keep me shopping at Tesco.

agreed but at this time of year I prefer to support UK supermarkets, I saved all my Clubcard vouchers all year so Christmas dinner is free from Tesco, with prices like these I'm going to have more for booze!!
