Just to give some background to my £50 of choc oranges..
I moved to New Zealand 18 months ago and just back for the xmas hol's.. these things cost £4-5 each in NZ, they rarely go on offer and when they do then £3.50 if you are lucky.
I have an extra suitcase with 20kg allowance purely for stocking up on these, will fill it with 100 of them and easily get 6 times as much for them when I get home.. easy £250.. well, unless customs have something to say about it. Last year I got some questions from them as I entered NZ but only thought it was funny bringing so much chocolate in however weren't fussed about anything else. They said they looks strange on the x-ray, lots of solid balls of chocolate

Pay double the price buddy and get yourself a suitable sell by date for them to be consumed in Xmas 2017.. Otherwise buy these June 2017 for next Xmas and risk being food poisoned or even worse.

But why would I scoff them if they're presents for next Christmas?

Best before date is June 2017 according to one of the ops previous messages so one would assume that 6 months is plenty of time to scoff these chocolates down ones neck.

I assume it's a best before rather than use by date - how many people check the dates, I wonder, as thinking for next Christmas?!

only any good if they are the 175g oranges instead of the poor quality 157g balls

Do they still make the larger ones? I think any of those left are older stock being run out.
