I was being a little sarcastic  thought you were. If they work for you then that's great, but many find they drain to quick, we have lots of rechargeable high strength but use non rechargeable when we have too

So rechargeable batteries are not as good for toys? Normal batteries best? You confused me. I have, and do not intend to buy these 'deal' batteries as I always get rechargeables for the kids toys.

Surely folk use rechargeable batteries these days for toys? Or am I missing a trick?

You are missing a trick.
Saw these cheap the other day but reviews aren't great so bought the Duracell industrial ones.

I saw these Varta ones in Screwfix and thought they were a decent buy. I looked them up on a battery testing forum and they seemed decent. 24 for £7.99
yes they are, quote taken from energiser website "Energizer® EcoAdvanced® AA and AAA batteries are our highest performing, most responsible alkaline batteries"
