Not worth it - the story mode is pants and I made the mistake of buying the season pass when it came out... there wasn't anyone on it then so couldn't play the maps... it's completely dead for multiplayer now.

Just mute all audio chat. It's rarely useful and distracts from hearing footsteps anyway. You can even disable text chat. With friends, just use something like discord. Don't need to let chat-related things stop you from having a great time. (Personally, I leave Text on because it makes me feel superior when someone gets "salty", and especially when they then leave hackusations on my profile. Anyway, not all players are obnoxious. There are some honourable ones (not too many, admittedly!))

IW is hot for this price, although I'm sticking with BO3 just for numbers. 7893 peak Steam players on BO3 last night, 5300 on IW.

Price is about right for a rubbish game, give it another few months and the servers will be almost empty.

For me it was messed up when 11 year olds were granted the ability to verbally insult my mother, not because I find it offensive, rather extraordinarily tedious. It became, in a literal sense, like hanging out with a gang of 11 year olds. I'm not Michael Jackson, therefore I have no interest in engaging with that age group beyond the social duties required by family etiquette.

Edit: Zombie mode? I was perhaps willing to bite at £5, but anything with zombies in is guaranteed dross, might try it at 99p, and not a penny more.

For me the COD series was messed up after COD 4 Modern Warfare, when you could choose your own server instead of being matched up to other players. I never play campaign, just online and bought MW3 with all the DLC's and after a few months nobody even played the DLC maps so it wouldn't have players in for you to join!
The last COD game I bought was Ghosts and it was similar to MW3 online but it ran like a bag of **** on my system, put up with it for a few weeks then it became another statistic in my Steam library.
After playing BF4 for a while now, I reinstalled COD 4 and was surprised how many servers are up and running, well over 2500 just on unmodded, and some of the modded maps are awesome, they certainly ruined the COD series when they started charging for extra maps (DLC) and that's why I'll never buy another COD game, same ****, different title!

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was launched on 4 Nov and after many patches of the game, windows 10 and graphics card Im still unable to play the game. I have a nice set of shiney dvds but it insisted on loading via Steam anyway and has never worked. My advice spend you money elsewhere ... Titanfall 2 puts this game to shame. Alternatively give the money to charity not to Activision/Infinity Ward

everything is relative... if it's no worse, then it's also no better than games released several years ago by now. so why buy it (irrespective of the price). and the main competition, BF1 being so much better means COD can no longer just coast along making the same game every year but have to make some actual improvements rather than simply rehashing - which they have not done

Yeah I got it for COD 4 Remastered which I don't rate either, I'd rather play the original, some how they even managed to fck up the remaster. Had to vote hot on this though, for the money, it's worth a go.

Not the same game but I'd take Overwatch over this any day for a decent multiplayer, it's far ahead of this game and reflected in the price, the price of this game has plummeted whilst Overwatch is still around £25.

Amazing price!
Got this game for £15 a few weeks back thinking I got a bargain!
Even though it gets alot of stick as compared to the other CoD games, I still enjoy the campaign mode, and at this price, bit of a no brainer for that alone.

Bad points would be long download + installation & initial rendering time... and too many flying missions. But that is just a personal gripe as I am not very good with spacial awareness.

It's not even worth £9.89, it's just awful.

Gameplay is dated, story is just silly and the visuals are pathetic.

It's not worth the huge install size, never mind the price.

In other words, due to that sales chart being for disc-based games then you've merely highlighted that Call of Duty is still a top seller with the console crowd.

19 Dec 16 #99
It will be f2p by boxing day!

It isn't a bad game at all and worth this price, single player is great fun.

I hope next year they take a break and focus on reinventing the series. Annual releases are killing the game, they should release a COD game that grows and continually gets better each year (like StarCraft 2). Personally getting fed up of prestige chasing just to start from scratch every single November.

19 Dec 16 #95
Nope the multiplayer is pretty bad - it's all grind/pay2win lootboxes for weapons now. Which is a shame really as the single player is pretty solid.

Good deal I guess for the single player. Multiplayer population on PC is pretty low (which isn't unusual tbh). Could finally be a sign of franchise fatigue. We don't need a new CoD every year (let alone 2 with MW:Remastered). Give each title room to breathe.

19 Dec 16 #90
I agree with that. The reason why people vote hot on hukd because they are non gamers or parents who bought games for their kids. They have no ideas which one is the real big hit of the year so they just pick one with the most well known title.

The consoles are available in the likes of Russia, China and Brazil but they are expensive so few people have them. Also the availability of online services there is extremely limited, especially in China. If you want anything close to decent sales numbers in those territories then you need to release on the PC.
lomax
19 Dec 16 #88
Fair point. Price drops for the original ps4 and consoles being legal now in China may change that.
Also it's hard to compete with free to play these days in emerging markets. Crossfire is extremely popular in Asia. Even though given how much revenue it generates, over $1 billion dollars in 2015, its definitely costing it's players money.

Don't confuse people with facts they don't like it . Is that weekly though as I thought FIFA 17 had the largest sales this year. COD was still the biggest seller for console fps this year and will probably top Christmas sales.

I wouldn't be surprised if Activision decided to skip PC or at least steam for the next release. If only to avoid devaluing the brand. Sales are always lower on PC but this year has been shocking (around 250k) especially given the fact that on console it will most likely end up outselling Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 combined.

Great buy for a less than the price of a couple of pints though.

Might have been unlucky..played on release and never played since.
I even tried single player and got stuttering so just left it.
I have seen a ton of updates though.
Just didn't get a good feel to the game.
Black ops 3 on the other hand even when playing Europeans feels right.
On another note, even the remastered didn't run well and it's the same for people I played with.
It lags for the first 20/30 seconds making it impossible to play at the beginning.

19 Dec 16 #78
Believe me I'm not the foolish one. I was just showing that, as ever at this time of year, games sales aren't always driven by review (B1 this year's exception), and so the publisher won't be worried by cdkeys price for the codes they have obtained. And on the subject of sheep (the plural of which is sheep) this site has that too with people blindly voting something crazy hot or cold for no good reason.

4 Watch Dogs 2
5 Grand Theft Auto 5
6 Final Fantasy 15

very tempting at this price. The last COD I played before this was Advanced Warfare and Ghosts before that. Both quite decent despite less than glowing reviews but IMHO modern COD games have the pacing a bit wrong in the campaign, it's like the most action packed action movie you can imagine on loop, there is barely a quiet scene or time to explore your surroundings. Sure they all have this to a degree but the earlier CODs like modern warfare series seemed better at balancing it with slower, quieter and more thoughtful scenes (like stealth and the overhead bombing in the first modern warfare).

Not sure why this game is getting stick from every corner, the Campaign is no worse than black ops 3 or advanced warfare or even ghosts. Under a tenner for any call of duty game is a bargain.

hopefully the legacy edition will drop to this price. have some heat :man:

might buy for campaign alone as CoD campaigns can be an entertaining few 6-8 hours

That's well cheap I've picked it up for the story and zombies not really fuss about online.

W.. with the price drop people must really hate this game

The game is not bad, I think the price drops will be due to the inevitable incoming MWRemastered.

I miss Co-Op campaign although that has only happened once.

Worth buying this? - what about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered? I'm a bit out of the loop on the latest COD stuff!
