I haven't got a clue really when talking about this kind of stuff and I always bow to your superior knowledge, but in the camera description it says from the web site :- HD Camera - Yes 1080, Video Capture HD definition 1080. Does this mean the same as you have posted?

Just ordered. Supposedly arriving tomorrow. I use the phone very little and I am more interested in the camera which gets really decent reviews and I understand that this eats into the battery as well. So fingers crossed. I've seen this model (albeit brand spanking new for as much as £229.00) whether anyone pays this of course is another matter.

4 Jan 17#168
It depends what you compare it to really, it'll never beat my Z5 Compact but its better than a lot of phones I've used. 2300 is a little low, but its also only 720p so its not using as much to power the screen.

Thanks for that info. Sadly they are now out of stock. Available at Argos and Curry's outlet for circa £139 but that's a big difference from the offer posted here and an even bigger gap than those who were able to catch the glitch when it was £49.99. I'll keep looking.

Very happy with XA phone. Excellent appearance and build quality.
Sound via Bluetooth speaker is very detailed but volume via internal speaker is very quiet.
Also headphone volume does not go loud enough.
However battery life is poor and gets hot.
Found this from a TechRadar review "It also seems to regularly get warm even under light strain. It never becomes uncomfortably hot, but this is a suggestion the Helio P10 may not be all that efficient. In this case at least."
This is why it is so cheap. Mainly wanted mine as a music player so battery life not an issue

Might as well throw your money outside the Window if you shop with Amazon. Used them for a Moto G4, turned up damaged and the replacement was delivered to the wrong address - still managed to get a signature off some theiving **** for it so Amazon were happy everything was okay (they had my money after all!).
Just spent a week with their PAINFULLY stupid customer support team attempting to work out what happened, baring in mind I've only just found out a signature was given for it - for the past week I assumed the courier **** off with it - turns out as mentioned they went to the wrong address and gave it to a total stranger! Great job Amazon (btw, I was using Amazon, with Amazon Prime and was couriered from Amazon Logistics so, no excuse).
I'd much rather/sooner chop my ball-balls off my Christmas tree and eat them before risking any MAJOR purchase with Amazon.
Tend to agree .....my Sony z3 screen cracked last night when I sat down with it in my jeans rear pocket - now I realise it's not a good thing to do, but a decent mobile phone should be robust enough to cope with such a scenario. My camera overheats too.

I wouldn't touch Sony phones again unfortunately. Bought 2 brand new Z3's and they've in total been for repair 5 times. Twice within 2 years the screen burns on the left side. The loud speaker goes so quiet over time and that needs replacing every 6 months ideally. They bend like a banana in your pocket, oh and the rear camera stops working. All these are common issues which can be googled. There repair service is OK, but you're left without a phone for a week or so, which is annoying. Samsung's wouldn't touch either, sent 2 for repair in the past and the repair company both times said it was user water damages, when they had no been anywhere near any water at all. Just excuse to get out of repairing and trying to bill you for silly money.
Due to the above, it made me dive into the chinese markets.. Huawei.. oneplus...lenovo.. which i've had all 3 and never had a single problem!.

I sold me iPhone 6 plus ever since getting the xperia z5 premium. best phone ever and battery is great. mind that XA is a lower end phone so can't judge the brand by it I guess.

The battery on this Sony is not up to it unfortunately.
Its probably the main reason why these phones are being returned

Actually the last homtom has done well, a year old now and still fine. We've also had a doogee which survived being dropped better than a Z3 compact! If I could find any of the phones you mentioned for under £100 I'd have jumped at it, but its for an 11 year old girl so no need to go OTT plus by using amazon I got it next day and get very easy returns. That said I'd rather have had the Sony here!
EDIT: Half tempted to unwrap the thing and send it back!

Getting a Chinese phone from Amazon? That's not going to last at all. Should've gotten a Moto G4/G4Plus or a Xiaomi.
As for Sony, I guess it depends on the phone. I think my Z5C is great, not seen much I'd consider swapping it for.

I had one of these. They are good for the money. Build quality is good. The backs scratch very easily. The Mediatek P10 Octa core is more than fast enough. Just the standard HD resolution that lets it down. Would have been nicer with a FHD panel

Just odd that O2 couldn't find my work address so had to get it sent to a local store.
Nice little bonus.
I thought the advice for people getting one of these locked phones was to get someone with an 02 contract to log into their online account and unlock it for you?
Did the unlock code come via text message or email ?
http://www.o2.co.uk//termsandconditions/rewards/christmas-2016-terms-and-conditions
This shows under Annex A that the XA was included in the promotion
Just had a call to customer services who say they'll send out the code in the post.
£30 discount and free gifts aside, I'm quite happy paying £80 for it.
I don't need to do anything with that payg sim they sent with it right? I can just chuck that?
Surely not all of us could've made the same mistake when ordering the item.
Might have been there earlier that day.
If you already have an o2 contract phone, how come you couldn't unlock it online and how come you can't unlock this one too?
Just checked and it says mine is a F3111 which is single sim, I need a F3112 or F3116 for dual :disappointed:
Call up o2 to then be told o2 phones don't come unlocked and I have to top up £15 to unlock it!
Sound via Bluetooth speaker is very detailed but volume via internal speaker is very quiet.
Also headphone volume does not go loud enough.
However battery life is poor and gets hot.
Found this from a TechRadar review
"It also seems to regularly get warm even under light strain. It never becomes uncomfortably hot, but this is a suggestion the Helio P10 may not be all that efficient. In this case at least."
This is why it is so cheap. Mainly wanted mine as a music player so battery life not an issue

Anyway I think the freebies were meant for the full price PAYG mobiles. It was advertised against 3 phones including this one but they were new ones at full price. £139.99 for this one I think.
I dunno.
Delighted to hear they are unlocked! Great, great deal and loads of luck with the price drop too.
this or the Huawei p 9 lite?
Showing £79.99 now anyway
Strangely, only the 49.99 one is showing up on my o2 account page.
I think I'll keep the pair of them.
Great spot. Buzzing with that little lightning deal.
Good job you didn't cancel!
EDIT: Yup, they are now just £49.99 even if you order one on its own. I thought it was doubling up the discount of adding 2 but nope, they just dropped the price. Available for delivery tomorrow too!
£80 it would have to set on fire to disappoint.
Tech review with compare against other similar phones
Above review when price was £240 for the phone (sim free) - given the flaws, £80 is about right
Will try and find someone with an o2 contract to get an unlock code.
Cheers!

Due to the above, it made me dive into the chinese markets.. Huawei.. oneplus...lenovo.. which i've had all 3 and never had a single problem!.
shame, almost bought it
I don't know who's bright idea it was to fit a 2300mah battery to a 6" screen and 8 core processor. Apparently a charge can't even last a day!
