what build number is everyone's on? the lime gold is 33.2.a.3.105 graphite is on 33.2.1.3.85 - when i try to update it, it seems to indicate it's on the latest version. Surely the graphite should run the same as the lime gold?

Just ordered. Supposedly arriving tomorrow. I use the phone very little and I am more interested in the camera which gets really decent reviews and I understand that this eats into the battery as well. So fingers crossed. I've seen this model (albeit brand spanking new for as much as £229.00) whether anyone pays this of course is another matter.

It depends what you compare it to really, it'll never beat my Z5 Compact but its better than a lot of phones I've used. 2300 is a little low, but its also only 720p so its not using as much to power the screen.

Only thing puts me off is the reviews about poor battery

You certainly did, my shop say its B grade because it doesn't have the original box and now they aren't sure they can accept it without a charger!

I thought the advice for people getting one of these locked phones was to get someone with an 02 contract to log into their online account and unlock it for you?

I used live chat. Was told it could take 7 days but the code arrived minutes later, and that was Xmas day! Im already an o2 customer, maybe they let me off the 12 months because of that?

Thanks for that info. Sadly they are now out of stock. Available at Argos and Curry's outlet for circa £139 but that's a big difference from the offer posted here and an even bigger gap than those who were able to catch the glitch when it was £49.99. I'll keep looking.

It's a good phone but the lime green ones are locked. you need to order the black ones.

As these are now back in stock, I would definitely buy one of the Lime Gold as posters have said these are being delivered as unlocked which is what I would like. The camera is the most important part of this phone to me and it looks to be ok in that department. Should I take the risk? Good question I ask myself.

t was definately there on Wednesday. It was showing on the top right of the handset when i purchased it- i wished i took a screen print of the page but i didn't.

Yes but i ordered 3 xa phones 2 black 1 lime gold 2 black ones were unlocked lime gold was not i argued the fact that why are the 2 black ones unlocked but the lime gold is not?. Anyways she said all second hand phones should be unlocked before sending out and that she could get it unlocked took all the details and requested the unlock code for me.

Won't unlock the green, but offered to unlock my contract handset for free while I was on the phone.

Did your black ones have stickers on the back showing dual sim? Mine shows two different sim trays, but the supplied tray is just for one. It also initially welcomed me in german, and was unlocked. The lime gold one however had no stickers on it and was locked to O2.

Just checked and it says mine is a F3111 which is single sim, I need a F3112 or F3116 for dual :disappointed:

I went on the o2 live chat. Had explained o2 second hand phones come unlocked, give in imei and sim serial number... 2 minutes later the agent tells me they have to end the call as theres a fire in the building... Are you kidding me?
Call up o2 to then be told o2 phones don't come unlocked and I have to top up £15 to unlock it!

I got mine, for the money it's a great phone. Not noticed it getting hot and performance has been spot on.

Very happy with XA phone. Excellent appearance and build quality.
Sound via Bluetooth speaker is very detailed but volume via internal speaker is very quiet.
Also headphone volume does not go loud enough.
However battery life is poor and gets hot.

These are fully unlocked, just checked mine with EE & 3 sims. Black one ordered.

I flashed all 3 with uk simfree firmwares using flashtool pretty simple guides online 2 were unlocked but i can confirm looks like the lime gold ones are locked to o2 only.

Camera is fine, when it works. Doubt its a Sony camera though?. Likely other cheaper alternative phones use this camera.

I have had one it's a very good phone battery life was fine for me . I think people leave everything on and say battery is crap try turning stuff off you don't use you will see for the price well worth it looks great too.

Might as well throw your money outside the Window if you shop with Amazon. Used them for a Moto G4, turned up damaged and the replacement was delivered to the wrong address - still managed to get a signature off some theiving **** for it so Amazon were happy everything was okay (they had my money after all!).

Just spent a week with their PAINFULLY stupid customer support team attempting to work out what happened, baring in mind I've only just found out a signature was given for it - for the past week I assumed the courier **** off with it - turns out as mentioned they went to the wrong address and gave it to a total stranger! Great job Amazon (btw, I was using Amazon, with Amazon Prime and was couriered from Amazon Logistics so, no excuse).

I'd much rather/sooner chop my ball-balls off my Christmas tree and eat them before risking any MAJOR purchase with Amazon.

Tend to agree .....my Sony z3 screen cracked last night when I sat down with it in my jeans rear pocket - now I realise it's not a good thing to do, but a decent mobile phone should be robust enough to cope with such a scenario. My camera overheats too.

I can't find a G4 I can get this side of Xmas for under £100 though? And I'm not spending more than that on her as she dropped her last phone, she can't have a decent one unless she can go a year without breaking a cheap one!

I went from a z1c to a Z5C because nothing else appealed.

I wouldn't touch Sony phones again unfortunately. Bought 2 brand new Z3's and they've in total been for repair 5 times. Twice within 2 years the screen burns on the left side. The loud speaker goes so quiet over time and that needs replacing every 6 months ideally. They bend like a banana in your pocket, oh and the rear camera stops working. All these are common issues which can be googled. There repair service is OK, but you're left without a phone for a week or so, which is annoying. Samsung's wouldn't touch either, sent 2 for repair in the past and the repair company both times said it was user water damages, when they had no been anywhere near any water at all. Just excuse to get out of repairing and trying to bill you for silly money.

Due to the above, it made me dive into the chinese markets.. Huawei.. oneplus...lenovo.. which i've had all 3 and never had a single problem!.

Simple, ask them to use the unlock phone link on computer and put in your phone details. No need to link your phone with their account.

I have had one of these already I bought the mi Max to but the Sony is a cracking phone I flashed the latest UK sincere firmware to it pretty easily and it got android nougett cracking price I was getting 2 days battery life on nougett.

Was considering this but bought a Xiaomi Mi Max in the end. The XA Ultra looks nice and Android is relatively stock but it has a comedy battery and although I have no problem with Mediatek the retail price point is vey high for a phone with that chipset.

I don't know who's bright idea it was to fit a 2300mah battery to a 6" screen and 8 core processor. Apparently a charge can't even last a day!

Actually the last homtom has done well, a year old now and still fine. We've also had a doogee which survived being dropped better than a Z3 compact! If I could find any of the phones you mentioned for under £100 I'd have jumped at it, but its for an 11 year old girl so no need to go OTT plus by using amazon I got it next day and get very easy returns. That said I'd rather have had the Sony here!

I had one of these. They are good for the money. Build quality is good. The backs scratch very easily. The Mediatek P10 Octa core is more than fast enough. Just the standard HD resolution that lets it down. Would have been nicer with a FHD panel
