"4K quality resolution"
I hate this. It's either 4k or it's not.
I do regret not getting the £280 one from Very when the offer was on :-(

First, you're TV may be hdr...not all of them call it hdr (lg calls is 'ultra HD deep colour's for example).
The main benefit of this is going to be the resolution and frame rate bump. As it stands now, you're usually choosing between the two.
If you're not sure you need it yet you probably don't...there's no clear cut advantages yet, often compromises. Wait till next year when games will fully take advantage more of it...and it'll be cheaper.

Not pointless, but there's a big difference between SD and HDR, much more than 1080p v 4k.
Games like uncharted 4, infamous, final fantasy 15, Last of us - all support hdr. Uncharted in HDR is quite an experience.

Wow, great price. Anything wrong with it?
I too have been looking at Samsung bigger tvs and 7 and 8000 series.
Have 51 Samsung plasma. So thinking would beed least 75 to get the wow factor all over again. Think 65 wont be much difference

What do you mean HDR isn't called like that on every TV? I have a 4k LG tv with that ultra HD deep colour mode, but my PS4 PRO states that my tv doesn't support HDR. I've seen newer LG tvs have HDR mode so it seems to me that ultra hd deep colour and hdr aren't the same, unfortunately. :/
It is the same thing, some 4K HDR TV's have had problems with the PS4 Pro (check earlier story in the link), some are because of user error, for example not using the supplied HDMI cable or not using the HDMI input that supports 4K HDR, don't just assume all the HDMI inputs on your TV support 4K HDR.
If its a problem between your Pro and your TV then your need to do number 7 in the link, but try checking the other options first because your TV does support HDR if its got deep colour mode.
Its worth checking youtube as well as lots of people have had problems especially with earlier models.
you may need to go into TV settings and enable hdr as most TVs don't have it enabled out of the box and also some older hdr sets only support it when using hdmi1

Got one of these last week from amazon warehouse deals for 240. Only reason it was in warehouse was because box was ripped. Brand new. If you are after one set up a notification alert for when the used price on amazon goes down to under 300 and buy it immediately with 1 click as soon as it does. only happens around once per day and they sell out within 30 seconds. doable if you really want one though.

Thanks for the lengthy reply! I'll be sure to check out those suggestions. I'm so happy to hear that my TV does after all support HDR (only on HDMI1 though). It's one of the budget 4k TVs, LG 40UF772V. Picked it up on last year's BF. Cheers mate!

My advice is being well aware of your consumer rights with Very and being persistent. For instance my TV broke after 14 months, they said it was up to Samsung and Samsung said it was up to them, after quoting my consumer rights to Very they offered a full refund but I had to pay for it to be checked to ensure it wasn't my neglect. They ended up refunding me, collecting the item and paying for the check. It was stressful but in the end the came through.

Do not own a PS4 at the moment and this offer feels close enough to the cost of a 1TB slim for it to feel like the extra cost is worth it - even though I do not yet have a UHD TV at the moment.

Lol what? I would know, I've been building PCs for the past 10 years. I could have said the Pro is equivalent to an £1000 PC because of the faux-4K but that's not strictly true. But the checkerboard rendering and hardware upscaler means it can output visuals very very close to 4K. Building a PC that can output equivalent visuals would require a very good graphics card.

Just to make people aware, some users of the PS4 Pro have had the 'Black Screen of Startup' when connecting to certain LG and Samsung TV's. Your TV or PS4 Pro isn't broken, it does still work, it's just an issue that either Sony or the TV manufacturers need to fix.
Here's a little work around for you:
– Make sure your PS4 is off
– Plug the HDMI into the 4K 60hz port on your TV
– Turn your TV on
– Hold down the power button on your PS4 until it beeps twice (Safe mode)
– Change HDCP setting to 1.4 only
– PS4 will restart and you’ll probably still have no signal
– Turn PS4 off and get back to Safe Mode (step 4)
– Choose change resolution which will restart PS4
If you get an image after PS4 restarts then choose the YUV420 option. Hooray!
If you got no signal still after PS4 restarted then go back to safe mode and go back to HDCP and choose automatic
Got back to safe mode again and choose change resolution and then choose yuv420
If still not working then try the above steps a couple more times
Before you attempt these fixes, first make sure your console is connected to one of your TV’s modern HDMI ports, version 1.4 or higher. If you’re looking to get a 4K signal and HDR, the HDMI port needs to be 2.0, as does the HDMI cable itself.
Like I said, this problem will either be fixed by TV manufacturers through a firmware update, or by Sony through an updated PS4 firmware.
