I got rid of my clock radio years ago as always resented paying electric to keep it on and having to chuck my pants on it to hide the display.
Guess this serves a purpose and if you are back ridden and can't pick up a phone - ideal
IMO looks damn ugly and completely redundant if you have a semi decent phone
Cold - sorry!

Worked it out for you, mine costs £1.75 a year to run, so not even worth thinking about. You can not leave a phone display on to see the time without draining the battery unless you plug it in at 10x the cost. Display has several light setting, Your comment cold!

Crazy. Why do you want to pick up a phone to check the time? I have always had / will have a clock radio as its nice to see the time if you wake up in the night

I'm sure the rules state leaving constructive feedback when voting cold. I mean just how much can one save by turning off an alarm clock, a couple of quid per year if that and everyone with one of these is bed ridden, seriously...:innocent:

This sort of thing has turned me off Amazon in the last year. They have created a two tier system and I'm sure other buyers are annoyed at this. You see an ad, you click on it, then it hounds you to create a Prime account to buy the product.
And no I don't want to watch TV shows. Just somewhere to shop with decent prices, reliable service and good customer service. Prime may be an extra income stream but I feel it's alienating 90% of other shoppers. Looking back at the last 5 years, my Amazon purchasing has taken a nose dive in 2016.
Hi vassy, the brightness of the clock is superb, it has about 4 different settings on the actual clock display and the projection is red on the ceiling / wall and really clear as this can be tweaked for the required distance...

Since I can't find full spec, I'll take an educated guess it takes around 2W of electricity. That would cost about £2.40 to run 24/7 for a year.

When it's the DAB one at this price fair enough, but the standard one is always around £19.99, so your basically getting the projector for £10
It always amazes me why things like this attract so much heat. If you have it and you like then fine but I have this clock without the time projection. It's crap. It's was an absolute pain to set it up the first time and it loses about 3 minutes a month. It's just been replaced by a proper digital alarm and the Sony I am glad to say is now in the bin.

Personally I am not really after a clock radio but I have to say that being able to project the time on the roof is a nice feature. My daughter was after the Oregon Scientic version (without the radio) for her Xmas and it was/is around £19.99. Waking up and not having to crane your neck or lift up your phone to see the time is actually great. Have some heat as the problem price is a good one:|

Thanks OP - got it from Argos and am happy with it.
FM reception is good, projector is great, and all those who complain about no DAB - what's the point when the unit has a small speaker? That's like putting a jet engine into a BMW when the speed limit is only 70mph.
