I got the x5 from.Sony for £100 for my 7 year old room, he loves it. it's a great little system, also it has Bluetooth so can connect phone, iPad etc. also.it has a dedicated app which lets you play direct from Spotify.

I liked getting one with CD, and buying son a few of the classics, so he can get into music proper.

I have one of these and it's brilliant. The CD is a great bonus but it reads a little slow.

I'd go with the refurbished option personally. I recently bought the x88 refurbished, to replace the x55 I have. and I love it. it was spotless!
