AMEX customer service team has confirmed that you can only claim a max of £50 under one single card, so unless you have multiple AMEX cards this won't work if you split the transactions into several chunks

I've been confused by this, all of the Jessie's deals people have said ask them to out through separate transactions.
Why would they do this? They are selling one product.

I have asked for a split transaction in different shops, not tried Jessops though. It's easy enough for them to do it, £50 on one card, £50 on another, £50 cash or whatever. Ever been to a restaurant and had to split the bill? Each person pays £20 on their own card. Or, you buy something with cash but have not got enough so pay some with cash and some on a card.
Why does the shop care? They are making a sale which otherwise they would not get, it might cost them a tiny bit more in transaction fees, depends if it is on a percentage or a fixed amount plus percentage.

great cameras let down very badly by poor expensive lens range &QC) (especially light bright tele) .. and this model still hasn't the ability to set a minimum shutter speed on autoiso (a painful issue for those forced to use manual lenses, shooting in lower light etc) ...
I still have and use a nex5r as a family/travel cam and for this it's great ... but sadly it's never going to displace my nikon dslr/lenses which is a real pity as it easily could have with a better lens range and fixing the auto issue.

not sure id bother with that lens - its the unstabilised FE version and surely be more like 100... if this cashback thing actually works in the end
i was referring to the 'i have the sigma 50mm prime' anyway... more likely the 60mm or 30mm as they both exist natively :wink:

If they refuse to do 3 separate transactions then simply buy 3 items that cost 150 quid in 3 transactions then return all 3 of them saying you've changed your mind bit would like another product and replace with the above mentioned camera and a 9.99 payment. Ruin the sale assistant's day while enjoying a bargain.

That won't work as you won't get the £50 when the item is refunded, it's in the terms and conditions.
Why not just be happy that you are getting £50 off rather than taking advantage of the offer like this? It's a bit ridiculous. Jessops will price match and also have other promotions so there is a great opportunity to get a good deal without resorting to breaking this up in to multiple transactions.
Went from Canon Eos M to this and it's just miles better, a powerhouse.

Thanks for speaking with them. Did you speak to someone in Brighton or India? Their advice really doesn't sound right based on the wording on the Amex offer. Has anyone tried the same card multiple times yet? I've asked over in the main Amex deal thread too.

Would be a good deal if there were better lenses available. The standard lens is very poor and you need to spend a lot more to get the best from this camera.

I agree. I bought an A6000 second hand and ditched by 70D. I've since replaced the A6000 with the GX80 which has a far bigger range of lenses available.

I don't know of any shops that would refund the 3 items if your getting an item to the same value of the 3 you are returning. The till system just refunds the difference or requires you pay the difference depending on whether the exchange item is more or less expensive. This is called an exchange, not a refund. So it would still work. Amex have no idea you've returned anything.

Has anyone had confirmation this works? Normally when redeeming these types of offer you get an email saying thanks for using it. I would imagine you would get 3 seperate ones.

From the original deal thread and some others like this that have been posted all stores seem to be very happy to split transactions and all expected cashback has tracked and been paid out. Amex deals are very reliable and their Customer Service will tend to put anything right if you've met the conditions and something didn't track correctly. All of my cashback came through in a few days as expected.
