Are these a proper brand or just a brand made up for amazon, there were some dodgy ones about that worthless, better getting a proper brand imo

they use a name of PlemoUK & a mailbox in HK to disguise their origin.
I wouldn't trust a teatowel from china.......you will burn (or suffocate) in your beds with these.

Glad it's helped at least one person.... I use this site all the time and thought I needed to give back :smirk:
Dean its got 150+ reviews and the brand has numerous smoke and co2 products so imagine it's pretty decent.. But I ain't a fire safety expert, glad I just have one now

mods need to fix the app photo uploading issues. hot deal btw
Cold. Needs an extra zero on the price and controllable via siri, preferably with very little accuracy.

I was very kindly offered this product by the manufacturer in exchange for a free, honest and impartial review. Here is said review:
Out of the box I was a bit disappointed at how big and bulky the unit is. The smoke and carbon monoxide detector also has a cheap look to it. I think that this is mainly due to the bulkiness and location of the battery compartment on the front of the detector. I understand, that for some people this will not be a problem as safety products are not required to look good. But it goes a long way.
As mentioned by another reviewer... The unit fails to feature a relevant safety marks that are recommended. The failure to feature a kite mark or appropriate substitute means that I cannot trust the safety of this smoke alarm. Please by all means, go with what suits you. But when it comes to something like this... I want to be double sure that the detector works 100% and will recognise CO (Carbon Monoxide) and smoke.
A good feature of this unit is that there is a separate ring on the rear which allows easy fitting/removal to the ceiling/wall. The ring can be screwed to the wall and then the unit just screws on, a quarter of a turn.
The test feature works flawlessly. The volume is high, but no deafening. To the side of the test button, features a small LED. This LED will flash green every 30 seconds to signify it is working correctly. A yellow light signifies that battery power ( 2 x AA's - Provided ) is running low and new batteries should be installed.

Just more not for purpose safety goods.
Virtually all (possibly every one) of the Chinese CO alarms which were featured in rip of Britain failed to alarm at a dangerous level. All safety certs were also forged which managed to show how the typical 3 month test period somehow was performed and validated in two days.
Value your safety and spend the money on a fire angle or Kidde alarm.

Working well, they don't have sealed batteries but take 3x AA.
Should I replace with the sealed battery units ?
