This is probably pound for pound the best small tablet you can get at the moment, if your son's happy with the Hudl 2 size then is an ideal, & a better, replacement as the Tab 2 will a lot bigger. best figure is get the dimensions of all 3 and draw them on paper to see the size differences, the Tab2 will also be heavier to hold for any length of time.

Thanks Topper. I have the Tab2 as my tablet and was concerned it was a bit too big and more likely to be dropped! His Hudl 2 Has survived so far! My main thing was was it going to perform better than his Hudl 2 and the tab and looking at the reviews it should be much better than the Tab2. I didnt see the point in just buying something that wasnt going to be better for him. Ordered yesterday so hope it fits the bill!

Just some quick advice My 9 year old hudl 2 is getting him quite frustrated. We have initailly bought a Lenovo Tab2 A10-70F which we have as a replacement. I'm now thinking this might be a better fit for him size wise and power. Can anyone offer some advice as i am on the verge of ordering this instead. Thanks in advance. He mainly games on it and netflix. Minecraft, Roadblocks etc.

It's in stock at BT Shop for the same price, but there is also the opportunity to get cashback with Quidco there if anyone's interested....
Scrap that - they charge delivery!

When did HUKD become an "item in stock" notification site?

Suppy and demand. Demand for this product high, supply low. Being a hukd isn't soley dependant on whether its a cheap deal but whether something is desirable and wanted.

Worth waiting for the Nintendo Switch? Or will that piece of tech be locked down tight when it comes to running Android apps and / or streaming PC games?

Do you mean Switch? I'm 99.9% sure Switch won't have android or PC streaming!

This is very similar to my Xiaomi MiPad but with lower resolution. Was hoping they'd release an X1 powered tab by now but I guess they're concentrating on Nintendo Switch?

It appears as if they now include a cover and controller bundled in. Apparently a new controller is due for release alongside a remote which also works with the sister product, The Shield TV.

Great tablet for very little money. Any 8" tab thats more powerful for less money? Highly unlikely.
Battery life 8-9 hrs straight using it for web / mail / movies etc and you can also optimise processor for even further battery savings. Run on 2 cores etc. I wouldnt consider that bad and it wouldnt bother me if another tab could run for an extra 2hrs. YMMV.

Bought this on release for £150. Good but I'm not a gamer and wasn't much of a step up from my 2013 Nexus 7 for day to day tasks so sent it back.

Why is this described as new when it came out in 2015? Or is this a new 2016 variant?

They haven't changed the site since it was released in 2015 after its predecessor.

I love it, not had one for long but the button keymap oh man. I actually plugged my xbox 360 controller in and it just worked off the bat! (at least for the one game I am currently playing lol). So saved myself buying the shield controller there!
Only thing I despise is the battery. Actually thinking of googling to see if there is a battery extender or something.
Haven't bought a charger yet just charging via usb. Which is slow, wondering what charger to get - did u get official?

You can charge up a power bank and plug that in on the go.

Not exactly a 'deal' as it's always been this price (afaik). Frequently OOS on the NVidia site, and the same price on Amazon.
Nice spec tablet though - probably will get one when my Hudl2 dies.

I'm sure when this was (re)launched it was only £149? Is this an upgraded model? Or Brexit price increase?
