The price is definitely linked to the brand, but they are by far the most reliable markers I've used when doing stuff around the house. Although i don't think I'd need all these, i just use a black one for DIY and writing on plastic tubs

Found one link where they were once £3 in tesco, the £7 price point usually applies to smaller packs of 12 or 20, this seems to be one of the cheapest deals for a 28 pack.

Really,? Got a link? You can get not Sharpie ones for that price but I have never seen a 28 pack of sharpie for £3, I suspect you haven't either but I'm prepared to be proved wrong if you can.
