Sound Emulation on all these units is trash, it's off key and the wrong speed. The Megadrive had a great FM sound chip and these things destroy it.

Be better getting anß Xbox Mame 150gb console for about 15 quid more which usually contains every single megadrive game plus thousands of snes, nes, arcade games too plus the megadrive emulator will be much closer than this rubbish

Does anyone know if this is old stock or this years model with the 25th anniversary sonic pack?

it comes as a complete product. Original xbox console that has an upgraded hard drive in with custom software on it so you can play all the roms. Simple search on ebay for modded original xbox will return plenty of results. Bought one just out of interest to see what it was like / how it ran etc and was really impressed. Alternativley id recommend buying a raspberry pi and putting retropie on it. plenty guides online how to do it.

The original xboxes the person aboves talking about are superb. Bought one bout 6 months ago for £50-£55 with 160gb drive in. over 6000+ roms (nes, snes, mega dive, sega CD, master system , n64, ps1, mame, gbc, gba, the list of consoles and roms goes on and on and on and...). Can side load apps and games etc. Got the enigma app on mine too so u can enable 720p/1080i mode. class bit of kit it really is.

This is a shoddy product compared to the NES Mini.

the emulation and controllers are rather shoddy on this. the wireless controllers are infra red so you can win by holding your hand out or lose by moving the controller out of alignment. ours didnt get used after last boxing day. really need to ebay it

Poor emulation - especially sound...
Retroarch runs on almost every platform and is much better than this (and emulates many other machines).
Save your money for some controllers - This won't get a play past Christmas Day

I still have my old Sega Mega Drive with 2 games i bought recently - Super Street Fighter II & Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, along with an official 6 button Sega controller. I really don't need anything more.

​All over ebay. Type in Xbox mame and search in ebay and there are various sellers. They range from about 50-55 quid to 250 depending on size of hard drive and games etc

If your anything like me when you play these old games you will ask yourself WHY !!!
