Think she must have got her wires crossed , as most of us bought them three weeks ago when I posted this , mind you , mine came out and sat on the party table on Boxing Day and then went back into the fridge , as no one wanted to squish Santa :smile:

I looked in all three morrisons near me for these, and there was not a single one to be had. Then 30th December I go into store for some bits and there they are.... loads of butter santas sat in the fridge.
Lady was tidying up the fridge section and I mentioned to her about my earlier search and her reply was that I wouldn't have found then as they didn't come in until after Christmas. So they will now probably end up being reduced in price as no one wants them after Christmas.
This is wonderful sales planning by Morrisons.

As of this evening, there were still quite a few left in Chelmsford.

Ours gets a delivery every morning, had none yesterday afternoon but plenty this morning, guy said it always sells out by lunchtime. It's on the end with Christmas cheeses etc. Also picked up their Christmas Tree crumpets and Snowman marshmallow biscuits. Thanks.

Did mention in my opening post that it was in store only, a fair few people have managed to pick them up now so I guess it's just a case of waiting for stock to be delivered. I've grown up with anchor butter yes I remember previous name well (I'm old). I stock up when its on offer £1. My freezer currently has only 4left, and I have tried various other butters because after all I like to save money and afraid nothing matches Anchor.

Well, you're being conned! I used to buy only Anchor thinking it was still New Zealand butter. Not anymore. It's made by Arla - would you buy it if it just said 'Arla Butter' at the same high price? Course you wouldn't.
Look at the butter description on the back of any pack, any brand, and you will invariably find it will state fat (butter) content at around 80%. Now pick up a pack of 'cheaper' (around £1.25 250g pack) Cornish Butter and find the fat (butter) content as high as 98.2%.
See, you are being conned!
Even ALDI sell Trewithen Dairy Cornish Butter at £1.25. Try it. You'll be amazed at the difference. Just like many other products it's easy to be fooled today. Many don't realise that there is butter and there is 'real' butter.

How about buying a santa mould and softening some butter and pressing it into it. Rub the inside of the mould with kitchen roll first and it might work, I will be giving it a go if I can't get one.

I'm a 24 year old grown man... BUT I WANT!

I lived next to a dairy farm for 20 years.

The cows led a super life, they spent their days in the fields and then came into the sheds for milking. Whilst being milked they were happy and had free access to food and water.

The farm was well kept and it was a sad day when the farmer moved over to arable because dairy farming wasn't profitable.

I always try and buy British dairy products as we have higher standards than other countries in Europe. We have more regulations, not just about the welfare of the animals but about the drugs used - often as prophylactic rather than to cure them.

We need to start paying a fair price for dairy products as more and more British dairy farms are moving over to arable and we are having to rely on European milk to sustain our dairy purchases.

not that its not a good deal for what it is

but butter carving would not be how this are made, there the same as the chocolate plastic moulds, room temp choc or butter, in to plastic mound pushed down to shape, put in freezer for a few hours to hard, than easy to get out of the moulds, if you want it to be double sided repeat, than use some melted choc / butter to seal the two halfs together again freeze to dry, really no skills involved, and a fun project for bored kids
