took the advice on here and went for the 55 inch 7 series for 899 from curry's. I also got 8% off with voucher codes with work so got it for 828. so a good deal all in all I suppose

I can tell you now the 6000 does have backlight dimming, just not local, or it would never get that low a black level, and I'm surprised it's only 400nits, there are moments where brightness can hurt my eyes so can only imagine how painful the 1000 of the 7 series would be, bit I suspect this is more an hdr requirement and it would never usually hit this level

Backlight Dimming: No
The 6500 doesn't do true HDR
so future video games will look sh1t in comparison
Also 24p support
There is a night and day difference watching films on the series 7 vs series 6
Regarding HDR
All the leading gaming publications have stated that HDR is a bigger leap for gaming than 4K!
But you must have over 1000 nits or you miss out
The 6500 is 400 nits
Not even close to HDR requirements
If you can afford it
BUY THE SERIES 7 or above

If you are going to keep an eye on a TV, surely it would be an ever changing exercise. There's always something better out there with the amount of choice.
I think everyone posting ....>I've been watching waiting for this TV to be reduced should really explain why!

It could be because that is all the money they have for a new TV. Watched Despicable Me 2 in 3D yesterday takes viewing to another level of enjoyment at a bit of discomfort.

I'm still stuck in the dilemma whether to pay £30 more and get KU6020 for the Bluetooth (that's the only difference apparently) but is it worth it? can I use it to connect speakers?

the only real benefit of it is if you want to use PlayStation now. you can connect a controller, the 6000 needs a USB lead.
other than that, pretty pointless.

a trial and error setup of this TV eliminates motion blur, it was quite bad at first but turning off a few of the image 'improvements' has left me with a great screen.
Xbox one s plugged in looks great, however every now and then I get a screen freeze in forza horizon 3, not sure if it's the game as it never happens on any other game, but no other game I own has the hdr feature.
can really tell Xbox quality when I jump back onto ps4, as I have it in game mode with hdr off, lovely black levels (not local dimming tho so can tell when leds have turned off) and can get so bright it hurts a bit.
I did compare to a few tvs when I bought this, but for the price point this was hard to beat, poor sound but that wasn't something that concerned me with having my own setup.
bad points, like I said, no local dimming so there is a noticeable jump in screen brightness when image goes dark, annoyed me at first but surprised how quick ingot used to it. only annoys me now as sometimes I leave TV on all night thinking its already off as screen goes so dark, lol

I saw one of these in Currys about 2 weeks ago and the colours looked washed out and a bit dull tbh. Got the sales guy to bring the remote and checked all the settings which were fine so in the end went for the UE55KS7500 which looked worlds apart.
That might have been a dodgy panel or something though.

You compared a bottom of the range 4K TV to a mid range 4K TV and they were worlds apart. What a shock.

cant find any online comparissons between the UE55KU6500 and the UE55KS7000. i know its 8 bit v 10 bit. The reports of motion blur on the UE55KS7000 is putting me off. i watch allot of football so motion blur is a no go for me really. how does the UE55KU6500 handle motion blur? i also have a ps4 pro and xbox one s. is the difference huge between the 8 and 10 bit pannels? the 6000 model is substantially cheaper than the 7000. is the UE55KS7000 really worth the extra £££?
The UE55KS7500 is about twice the price but in my opinion it's worth it, I don't think there's much motion blur, the best thing to do is go to somewhere like Currys to see for yourself what you'd prefer. You could always go for the UE55KS9000

Curved screen is more pointless than 3D in my opinion, at least with 3D you can watch a handful of 3D movies and at times it can look pretty impressive, then you get bored of it and watch regular non 3D content......
Curved screens are just pointless from the start....

Does a curved screen make much if a difference when you're seated away from the TV?
I'd understand to purpose a curved screen when you are near it, for example if you were playing games on a PC.
I'm just curious to hear what people think and not knocking your recommendation. Thanks for your info dafasabrush
