If anyones still considering this or similar, i highly recommend getting one. The picture is perfect, good sound and the curve is noticable when playing racing games on the xbox at the right distance. The menus work very well too. Only downside is the sound features. Had to use an optical cable to the soundbar as has no bluetooth and the equaliser option seems to be disabled.

Its clear some people like curved but I think the majority don't and I personally know one person who got a curved tv then regretted it and went back to flat. I'd rather have flat myself. There's something clever and impressive about a curved screen but then shortly afterwards you realise you don't actually like looking at the curved screen. They look better off than on.

Unless you live in a lighthouse, I see little point in curved.

I went for the 6300 from JL in the end. 4k wouldn't have been noticeable and the extra 4 years guarantee swayed it for me.

With a 40" 4K TV you would have to be directly in front to get any benefit from 4k in comparison to HD, like 3 feet in front.

No idea to be honest, don't know the full spec but I have seen similar go for less. My point was about 3D which is now as a feature more difficult to get at a reasonable price and so prices can go a little higher secondhand for 3D tvs.

i only got £120 for my samsung 50 inch 720p plasma do you think that is a acceptable price, it was 4-5 years old, the guy talked me down from £160 to £120 and was so pushy in the sale
bonzobanana
28 Dec 16#65
Don't sell your Finlux too cheap. Many manufacturers have moved their 3D models to top range or have abandoned 3D altogether so for those who love 3D its getting harder to get 3D televisions at a reasonable price especially if yours is a passive 3D model. Still a huge amount of 3D film content being released and both pc and ps3 3d gaming.

sounds like samsungs are the best gaming tvs out there and have low input lag.

the 6000 model is 339 at RICHER sounds if you download the vip 10£ voucher.6 year warranty makes it a better buy than this which has just 12m,According to staff they had 10 in stock this morning with just 2 left when i bought one at 1.00pm,so seems a popular choice.

USP's for me is that i have an open plan kitchen and living room, my normal TV gets light glare from the living room window, with this, the curve means i shouldnt get that and as its now only £50 more than the normal version its a great deal for me. My sofa is also quite close to the TV so anything over 40 inch hurts my eyes. Amazon, John Lewis all retailing at £499/£469 and have been since it was launched in early summer. Great looking TV as well!

How does the curved screen affect the dimension. I would guess a curved 40" would be smaller than a flat 40".
Sammykate to StJimmy
25 Dec 16#31
Yes, from extensive time spent in Currys trying to decide what TV we wanted, the curved ones do make the screen look smaller. Was looking at bigger screens than this and trying to decide between 49 and 55, but same principle applies. Think if I was going to get one this size I'd go for flat.
On a side note, not sure why the curved screen haters always have to appear. If you don't think it looks cool then fine? Don't get one.

Curved TV = Gimmick......why waste money of a feature nobody needs. If curved screens were so special all cinemas would have them. Desperate play by the TV manufacturers.

flat one for the bedroom no point in a curved when you are both in front of it.

25 Dec 16#18
This TV has an 8bit panel, but of course nothing does HDR properly at this price, so HDR is to be ignored, the real decision is whether to get a curved panel or not as Samsung offer a standard 4K panel for similar money, and went as cheap as £299 on Black Friday, so under £400 for cheap 4K it's Samsung you go to.
donny1266
25 Dec 163#17
As someone who bought the bigger version of this, unless you're sure you want curved, don't buy it. Test in store how it feels from different angles. I sent mine back after 2 days as it wasn't comfortable for me.

I'm after a small(ish) 4K panel for the man cave to replace a 32" Sony LCD.
I use it with my Mac and a load of games consoles. Does anyone use one of these with an Xbone/PS4? Is it any good?
I don't know whether to plump for something like this, or get say a 27" 4K monitor...
