Ok I'm a little baffled on the smart features of this TV. The remote does not have the "Smarthub" button it's just the standard remote you get with most non smart samsung TVs.
On the remote the home button takes me to the selections that allow me to select the input or settings and also the option to do a search. If I search for an app and install I can can then use it from the recent list but I can't see anyway to see all the available apps. This surely is not the right way, what am I doing wrong? I'm very tech savvy but this is frustrating me.

As for your question, press the source button, and at the very bottom is a row is a list of apps e.g. ITV, YouTube, BBC iPlayer etc.

Not everyone wants a poor quality 4k TV , which sub £1000 most are. I personally am getting a 1080p an using what I save against an oled TV in 2 years when their prices drop and 4k is more mainstream. Also don't forget this year's range of 1080p screen are really poor, best get a 2015 of earlier model.
If you still watch SD content then 4k will be poor upscaling, and if you sit only a metre or 2 away you won't notice the difference on a 4k compared to 1080p, need to cut through the CR**

like others have mentioned, I'm confused why this has so much heat. There have been numerous samsung 40" 4k HDR ( even if its 8 bit, its better than no HDR ) TV's for around the £350 mark with a 5 year or 6 year warranty from JL or RS.
I know for some people £300 might be there max budget, but surely buy one with a vastly longer warranty for the same price.

Back in the day I suppose it was but now it is no great reflection on any deal, there is little logic to it all. Anyone who regularly uses the site over a period of time will know and notice great deals can be cold and terrible or even duplicate posts can be hot as anything. It is becoming more irrelevant over time in practical terms as a measure of anything but the site still has its purpose and it is nowadays nothing more than a gimmicky marketing tool.
bigdeal66
3 Jan 17#31
Just a split second looking on google the price was the lowest at this time for this TV so at this time its a good deal and a good TV.
Anyway, there's no point in batting it back to each other, opinions will always be divided.

2 Jan 171#29
Isn't the heat rating the whole point of this site?
noahsdad
2 Jan 171#28
Like most active and aware HUKD'rs on here I don't look at the 'HEAT' rating, but the deal itself. It is of course your prerogative to focus on the HEAT rating if you wish as a key measure of a deal.
bigdeal66
2 Jan 17#27
Look at the heat rating, many would disagree as its a good deal at this present time for anybody looking for this TV or similar.
By all means stand by your comment as its your prerogative.

2 Jan 171#26
Look I am a deal poster and it was a deal on here, but its nothing to do with the 'time machine' cliché on here, it is simply an illustration that TV prices have not shot up drastically over the last year, and have generally remained the same or got cheaper for like for like. So I stand by the comment that this really does not seem a good deal.
noahsdad
2 Jan 17#22
Doesn't seem like anything special this deal. Got a higher spec 42" Samsung Smart TV with 4 x HDMI from DABS for same price less than a year ago. Would be looking for 4 x HDMI as a minimum to be honest.
