Win7 in my experience was fantastic and 10 is a very worthy successor with some great improvements. 8 is best ignored/forgotten...

the only great thing about this device is the OLED screen which is stunning and best in business for sure.
but the tilting angel, just 4GB Ram and no Micro SD Port..no port at all!!? Intel M3 and mediocre battery life and KB..definitely not worth £600 (current price) or even £450 as it was in this deal

I agree with you. The spec is fine for anyone not doing proper gaming or design and that's a good price. Still a lot of cash for what is a large tablet with a detachable keyboard. I think they're a bit of a fad that will die off in a few years but I could be wrong.

That is what it's main function will be, on me lap in bed, Friend has got a surface and said it is great, But not great on the lap, So think will hold out for Zenbook.

You won't get a Surface Pro for this price, I'm thinking of this although apparently Keyboard isn't the best.

For what it's worth, i think the Samsung with this relatively low end cpu/memory/SSD spec looks good value at £449. At launch it was arguably overpriced but it still managed to obtain generally favourable reviews. It's a quality piece of kit and unless you are a power user with demanding requirements, the spec is plenty sufficient for most folk. If i had a choice between a similar spec Surface 4 incl. type cover at the same price, then i'd go for a Surface 4 if only for the pleasure of admiring its looks and build quality. However, i don't think it worth the £150 ish (?) extra required, so at this point in time, it would be the Samsung for me.

I think Surface Pro 4 will hold its value much better than the Samsung
Big fan of the Zenbook myself - got one from 3 years ago still going great......obviously different kit really but i am not convinced that this or a surface pro would be great for in front of TV on my lap (which I do all the time). The i3 Zenbook currenltt OOS on Currys for 499 seams a great deal to me

Had an ipad pro 12.9 and a surface pro 4 this year, Sold them both for the TabPro S and have no regrets.
Stunning screen, decent sound and although the keyboard isn't as good as Surface it's loads better than the sh***y Apple keyboard I also purchased.
At this price it's a steal and is much more pro than the Cupertino overpriced and overhyped version.
The only thing better on the ipad is the speakers and the diversity of the app store.
Windows 10 is a good OS. It has its quirks but it's much less limited than iOS.

It is a good price but I think if you need a proper laptop, you're better off buying a proper, powerful laptop that can be cheaply upgraded when needed and a cheap but decent Android tablet for when a tablet is needed. These combined Windows devices end up being jack of all trades, master of none. People are complaining about battery life, keyboard, trackpad, lack of ports and i3 processor. Samsung support is also decidedly dodgy: https://www.extremetech.com/computing/229433-samsung-suggests-you-dont-update-to-windows-10-until-it-gets-around-to-making-drivers
In general, I think devices like these will depreciate like crazy.

I have the Acer switch which I bought for a 100 and really like it I have it set up with a 500gb hard drive in the keyboard when docked I have more storage if need. I really like this but apart from the gorgeous screen I don't think it's worth the upgrade. The switch has a similar screen size and 2gb ram instead of 4 and 32gb storage compared to 128gb. I have a Samsung tab s2 8 and wish It had the larger screen as its perfect for video. I use the switch if I need desktop browsing or productivity and for the application I want basic office, basic image editing, basic video editing and browsing it does me fine. I would like this but I don't think it's worth it for me personally upgrading. Can you install remix OS on this then it maybe something I would consider and can sell both device to have one device that gives me the best of the 2?

Its the UI. Clicking tiny x to close several times got annoying very quickly. Didnt mind on the lynx but sold that quickly as it did my head in. Was selling to replace a laptop nut tracl pad or mouse much easier IMO

Even better than Black Friday deal at £499, I was considering this because it is good for those that commute a lot, on the other hand I have a really good tablet already :/

XP was a downgrade from Windows 2000 in terms of stability but did get better after a few years and Service Packs.
I think in many ways Windows 7 is their pinnacle although I use 8.1 for various reasons it's still a bit of a hodgepodge.
XP was great compared to the joke that was Windows 9x but for those that used Windows NT it's been a downhill ride post Windows 2000.

Do you just mean windows 10 in general? Or have you had a better experience on another machine.
Ive got a cheap linx tab and absolutely hate the UI in desktop and tablet mode.
Windows 8 & 10 has been putting me off buying a laptop for quite a while now.

It's not too bad in terms of performance but for the price it normally retails at I would expect at least the Intel® Core™ m5-6Y54 Processor.
