sometimes they are just returns from Argos, you may get lucky but you can always return it if you're not happy with it. Very different to actually buying a 2nd hand from off someone, no warranty, no returns etc. Not a bad deal though for the edge version

It's definitely one of the cheapest going at the moment. I would forgive you for being mistaken though as I remember the s6 being a hell of a lot cheaper this time last year so it does seem quite alot especially for refurb.

Bit of an odd question but I have an LG G3 and I adore the double tap to wake up and close the screen feature. Can you do this with this phone?

No you can't, but the fingerprint scanner on the front is very well designed and easy to unlock.

This was the main reason I didn't buy one! Although a fingerprint sensor does reduce the need somewhat.
The Xperia XZ has this feature and the new G5 does AFAIK.
I didn't like the fingerprint sensor on the s7edge, was not accurate enough in my experience.

I get reassurance in the fact that it is manufacturer refurbished with a 12 month warranty and they've sold 240 of them already.
The Google Pixel isn't a "year old phone" but this is supposed to be better than that so I'm not too concerned about when the S7 Edge was actually released. I also have no crystal ball to know if the S8 is worth waiting for (price? headphone socket? Micro SD socket? who knows).

Just bought one. Thanks for posting the deal!
I also checked and did see the black one in stock - nearly perfect. It worked out at £384 over 24 months. Not sure how the 'nearly perfect' compares against the Manufacturer refurb, and also what the O2 warranty terms are.
Regarding the double tap to wake screen. I'm sure you can use nova launcher to set your phone to do that?

I bought one from argos ebay, manufacture refurb - came in absolute pristine condition, not a scratch or scuff mark, i've only had it for a week approx., I paid £464 :disappointed:.
Manufactured refurb's can be phones that were just returned. Plus you can return it if you don't like. Very good deal, brand new cheapest I saw was £449 from the entertainmentstore on ebay, I I didn't buy it then because I wasn't convinced it was a uk model...it transpires that it was!

I am concerned about Argos refurbs, I can never find any details on the condition or origin of the devices. If they are 14 day customer returns then you could get lucky with an "as new" device, but it seems a bit pot luck. It is a lot of money to spend to find you have a phone with scratches on the screen or someones skin flakes and God knows what on it.

Great price for an S7 Edge. The phone will be eight months old max so the internals wont have taken much of a hammering. In addition to the 12 months argos warranty, you will also have the balance of the Samsung two year manufacturers warranty. I've used it a couple of times over the years with refurbs purchased for myself and family. Registering the phone on Samsung's UK support website beforehand seems to make the repair process run smoother. You can get an unofficial estimate of the remaining warranty by entering the phone's serial number CLICK HERE.
Also, don't forget that to use the superfast charging ability you need to get a Qualcomm Fast Charge 2.0 or 3.0 compatible mains charger. Amazon have them for £10-12. Anker and Aukey are both decent brands.

Have to wonder which reviews were saying this is better than the Pixel? Is that just an assumed thing as all the reviews I've watched and read have praised the Pixel to the skies, with the only negatives being that the design isn't necessarily that inspiring and the price is a bit high. I wouldn't mind seeing those reviews where they say the S7 is a better choice for a phone (if someone could link to them). I don't factor money into the quality of a phone - for me if a phone is the better option then it's a better option. From that point it's all a trade-off with how much you can afford and what level of spec you're seeking and what features you desire. A phone doesn't become better just because it is cheaper - it's still the same phone.
On the other hand this is the best price I've seen for the S7 Edge and it is a great phone. I prefer the normal S7 myself (having owned both) but you can't go wrong for this price. I've heard that Argos 'refurb' are Brightstar phones - i.e. Recycled handsets that have been junked via upgrade programmes etc. 'Manufacturer refurb' should mean customer returns though, and the S5 I got under this description was absolutely brand new - so I wouldn't worry about jumping on this if I hadn't just bought a P9 from O2!

On Google Pixel XL vs S7 Edge, the last line of the Google Pixel XL review in Computer Shopper reads:
"The Pixel XL is a great phone, but there are a few things holding it back, including its price and the lack of an SD card slot. The Galaxy S7 Edge is cheaper, looks nicer and is the phone we'd choose"
They were reviewing the Pixel XL at £719 (4/5) vs the S7 Edge at £639 (5/5)
I've definitely seen more mixed reviews about the Pixel (no wireless charging, no micro sd) than I have the S7

Got mine today also. Few scratches at the back. Few minor scratches on the the screen. Want to have a better look in daylight. Bit disappointed. Didn't come with the headphone (which I read afterwards that it said that in the details on ebay - shame as wanted spare headphones) but also no USB charging cable. Phoned argos ebay and they will refund me £10 for the USB charging cable, but nothing for the scratches as normal for refurbished.

13 Dec 16#78
Mine did have a circled b, but it's in tip top condition. Call the Samsung support number (sorry don't have it to hand) and if you give them the IMEI and S/N they'll give you the manufacture date.
For those with damaged handsets, were the IMEI stickers still on the back (mine was, but a used one probably won't be)?
