Go for the 500MB deal with £99.99 upfront and £22 monthly
Airtime - £14
Device plan - £8
The phone element of contract is £8/month x 24=£192
plus the £99.99 you paid upfront.
Total - 192 + 99.99 = 291.99
Step by step guide for this deal
1) Follow the get deal button, purchase the £99.99 + £22*24 tariff.
2) Receive your phone and sim card.
3) Put the sim card into your phone and go onto myO2 (app or website) and from there request the unlock code.
4) Call 202 from the same sim card as it will make things much easier, go straight to the I want to leave o2 department or something like that (I think it's thinking of leaving us? Press something) as that will connect you with the right people much quicker.
5) Tell the person you want to pay your device in full and cancel the airtime. They will ask you why, tell them you don't think the airtime is a good value for money, but you want to keep the phone because you think it's an outstanding value for money. They will ask you for card details, you tell those details and that's it, they cancel it for you in about an hour.
6) You own the phone from that point, assumed that you have done this straightaway, there won't be any charges, otherwise you will have to pay as much airtime as you have used.
7) Unlock code will come through in about 2 to 48 hours.
The £312 phones are "almost perfect" ones, not perfect ones. Perfect are £360 and perfectly fine are £298 (all on PAYG). You're not late to the deal, they're just currently out of stock. This can change any day so just keep checking.

There isn't a "fine". There's "Perfect", "Almost Perfect" and "Perfectly Fine". £1 per month (device plan) difference between "Almost Perfect" and "Perfectly Fine" (£9 vs. £:sunglasses: and another £2 difference for "Perfect" (£11). Over the course of the 24 months, there is a difference of £24 or £72 between "Perfectly Fine" and "Perfect".
The trick, of course, is finding the devices in stock, of course. At present (well, yesterday, at least) there's nothing but "Perfect" available.

Doesn't seem much price difference between fine and perfectly fine?
Will this have international firmware once unlocked or will it have O2 branding and O2 ota updates?

Shame that I am a bit late to this deal as I would have liked a 'perfect' version for £312 on PAYG as they are currently £360 otherwise.

I have been wondering about that but in order to set up the phone it needed to connect to the internet so I used 4g. That's what I think Is the issue.

You shouldn't have needed to pay anything if you cancelled immediately and didn't use the sim. I would contact O2 about that, I've never needed to pay for the first month with these deals and I've done them several times.

The overheating issue and battery life could be down to the latest S7 software update. Never had an issue with the refresh deals.

Strange. I just followed the OPs instructions and ended up with a mint phone and no issues with O2. I did have to pay the first month though.

good deal uk supplier and 1year warranty, but o2 accounts don't seem to be able to deal reliably with cancellations. mine was unlocked ok but still got bills for contract and early cancellation charge, lot of hassle to sort out. would do payg next time and pay to unlock .

10 Dec 161#51
Serious heat only wish the Boss Lady had seen this sooner, thanks.
I wouldn't cancel the direct debit if o2 try to take a payment and your bank declines it then it will go against your credit score, best leave it open and have the hassle of getting your money back from o2. If you decide to go for a mortgage it will go against you and any mortgage you get well have higher rates so it will cost you a lot more in the long run

I'm returning mine soon, the black one(not proper black anyway, onyx which I dislike).
Doesn't worth even £292 so I don't know what and why all this fuss about.
It is also one sim phone only.
It seems they are customer return with issues and maybe refurbished/repaired or whatever.
Mine cosmetically perfect but overheats e.g. listening to music via Spotify and crashes at times.
Battery not great at all without much use and takes ages to charge the normal way.
I received my unlock but did not use it as I'm planning to return it.
I was told I can keep the phone if I wish and pay the rest but no thank you.

I bought two of these, recently one gold one and a black one when the OP originally posted this. it was dead easy to end contract. Unlock code came within 24 hours too. I've got confirmation letters from O2 for both contracts that the Contract is ended and device paid in full. the only problem is the wife wasn't happy with her gold one so i bought her a Huawei P9 now, I have to sell her gold one on Ebay lol

Captainbill to darkwarrior
10 Dec 161#37
The 5.1 inch version of the S7 is the only version. whereas the S7 edge has a 5.5 inch screen. This is different to the s6 where they were both 5.1 inch but also had a "+" 5.7 inch version
I guess it comes locked to O2 even if it's payg?? Correct me if wrong

That's the benefit of the ops deal as on contract (o2) you get unlock codes for free

Hi excuse my ignorance but are you not held by contract for 24 months like it's says or is it because u do it Asap your in the cooling off period and what would then happen if O2 say you can not pay it off you would have to send it all back I presume

It's quite simple, I did this a few days. Order the phone as mentioned in the post, once received contact O2 to get it unlocked then just pay the phone off in full and cancel the airtime. Once the phone is paid in full cancel the direct debit to make sure no other money is taken ( it will be refunded but its a pin from experience ) and that's it. The one I got was perfect as new so happy with that for under £300!
baz84
10 Dec 161#12
Can also get it in almost perfect condition in black for £306 I think...
Opening post
Go for the 500MB deal with £99.99 upfront and £22 monthly
Airtime - £14
Device plan - £8
The phone element of contract is £8/month x 24=£192
plus the £99.99 you paid upfront.
Total - 192 + 99.99 = 291.99
Step by step guide for this deal
1) Follow the get deal button, purchase the £99.99 + £22*24 tariff.
2) Receive your phone and sim card.
3) Put the sim card into your phone and go onto myO2 (app or website) and from there request the unlock code.
