Samsung Domestic products are most definitely not high end. I bought an earlier model and it broke down 1 month outside of the warranty, despite being a known fault and subject to a technical update, Samsung refused to repair. Unknown to me Samsung had been replacing the entire back panel of the fridge, and fitting modified parts under warranty to devices as they were failing.
Ironically given Samsung's reputation for phones overheating, the fault with their fridge freezers has been that they get too cold due to faulty thermostat & location and incorrect default defrost cut out temperatures (possible because they are not calibrated for temperature variations experienced in the european market), resulting in ice build up across the inside of the back panel which eventually seizes the circulation fans, causing the temperature to rise in the fridge to rise which also causes the freezer to stop working. Mine does this every six months or so, despite having a retro kit to fix it which involves relocating the thermometer sensor. I have to remove the entire back panel and defrost it with a hair dryer, and then refit it with a new thermostat on a regular basis. Google "samsung fridge freezer problems" and you will see that it affected the rsh1 and rs21 so this is not limited to one product.
I would never recommend a Samsung domestic product as they clearly don't properly test them before releasing to the market, as the fault is consistently reported, so much so that quite a few repairers appear to be providing repair kits.
For your own sanity (I have become somewhat obsessive at checking the temperature of the fridge as I cannot trust it, and am always delighted when I return from holiday to find it still working) I would avoid at all costs, as in this case whilst it may have showroom appeal beauty really is only skin deep, the Ford Edsel of fridge freezers.
(To put into context I bought a cheap Beko fridge freezer to live in my garage at a fraction of the cost and that performs flawlessly it just doesn't look as flashy).
It is however very cheap for an American style Fridge Freezer !

Though if coming in via a standard external door, not patio doors or the like, then the door may need to be removed from the fridge/freezer if this is the standard size American fridge, though don't let that phase you, generally only 1 screw for top cover and 3 bolts per door to take off, then door slips up off the bottom hinge. I would enquire the delivery team are geared up to deliver such items, recent purchase of one of these from Tesco, ArrowXL used for delivery were a complete mare 5 attempts to deliver and the driver only dropped on last attempt as I played the kids don't have any dinners as no working fridge card.

The delivery guys unpacked and put my freezer in the kitchen for me when I bought from Curry's. Would assume this is standard practice with any retailer/delivery service?

They may be far from perfect, but Samsung is a high end brand and many will surely prefer a Samsung option to that of many other brands. I'd personally rather have a Samsung product go wrong than say an Indesit product, but that's just me.

Google Samsung fridge design faults. The plastic inside the fridge was cracking on mine. It's clearly a design fault which when I googled, other people had the same issue, some had theirs fixed but had mine just over 5 years, and couldnt quote it wasn't fit for purpose as that's within 5 years which most people under that had it fixed. So they quoted me £130+ to have it fixed. I said no thanks, would rather put it to good brand.
Spent loads of money on it and looks brand new, but when you open it and look on the white plastic, it's falling apart.

my friends mum had one of the first Samsung american fridge freezers and had this exact issue !! TBH i would stay clear of Samsung's fridges, washers, driers etc without doing extensive research as they all seam to fail far too soon. All their TV's on the other hand seam solid from the budget blowers to the £££££ stuff.

I agree their fridge is not worth. We bought the American style, and its shelves are shelf distructive. Got them replaced and the second set broke too, they were not able to withstand 4deg temperature of fridge. Samsung claims them to be unbreakable (if dropped), but they will break just in the fridge within 5-6 months  had to get the front electronic panel replaced too in the first year of use.

Don't touch samsung fridge freezers, bought regular model and it broke down just 1 month after warranty. Design fault, keeps icing up, and temperature is too high for freezer. I'm sure it just a blocked drain hole, but there seems to be no way to clear it unlike other fridge freezers. Have tried 3 times, having to rip pieces out to try and access the drain area.

Our Samsung fridge freezer has from new had a freezer unit that constantly ices up at the bottom despite being frost free. Normally I would think a dodgy seal but it all looks good. Will check out the thread links for fixes. We have never had any luck with Samsung products (note, ace 2, and the fridge freezer). I personally think it is a major problem in their company.

You might need to add 'installation' if you're not willing to cross your fingers that the delivery guys are friendly.
I had an American fridge from AO delivered before Xmas and the guys said that free delivery was supposed to be to the doorstep only. If you want it inside that was 'installation'. These fridges are about 100kg so unless you're Geoff Capes you'll need a hand. I managed to bribe the delivery guys with coffee and biscuits.
Also measure your doors carefully, packing adds about another 15cm to the width making it much bigger than most doors. They are very big appliances and you might need to give the guys a waver to bring it inside without the protective packaging.

I purchased this from Curry's for the same price (£450) on a BestBuy price match on Boxing Day 2010.
My unit had a few issues which I reported just prior to the 2 year guarantee expiring and Samsung replaced the whole unit. So I've had mines for 6 years now (2 years original plus 4 years replacement unit).
They are good units. Main issue I find is that it is difficult to fully utilise the freezer space. There should be a small lip at the end of the shelves to prevent packets from slipping down and not stacking securely. There are 2 trays at the bottom which are fine. I'm not sure if the competitors have a better design for securing stacked packets of frozen food to maximise storage capacity.
Only other point I would highlight is to take care not to block the vent at the top. If your freezer is frosting then this may be the cause.
Oh yes, it is a nightmare to get it in. I had to have it de-boxed and had to remove an internal door.

Mine arrived this morning. I just picked standard delivery but they couldn't get it in the door without removing the packaging and the doors but the delivery guys did this quickly and never complained about it.
After leaving it to stand for 2 hours it is now on and cooling down, looks great.
As a word of warning, AO did phone me after delivery and tried to sell me very expensive insurance cover. They try to disguise it as a friendly customer service call but make no mistake, they are only calling to try and sell you rip off cover.

IMHO Samsung fridge freezers should be avoided. too many problems as documented here and watchdog and a customer service organisation that's disjointed, under fire and demoralised that from my experience made the situation of a broken American fridge freezer on the 22nd November into a drama. still not fixed turned up 3 times in 7 booked visits. been waiting sin 18th Dec for replacement and told yesterday that it had been canceled as it's unusual to for customers to ask Samsung to replace (rather than retailer) so they assumed it was a mistake and didn't contact me. (I asked for Samsung delivery as this has to go up to 2nd floor and retailer had problems last time which we got over but they could not guarantee). so I have to wait another 7-10 working days. (their website says next day btw) . whole experience has been a nightmare. been lied to. had Samsung blame each other for aborted visits,no parts when ordered, no or duplicitous communication , no escalation paths etc. I will never buy a samdung product again in protest and to avoid similar situation.I live in hope rather than expectation that my different replacement model stays healthy.

Speaking from experience a water dispenser you have to refill is more hassle than it's worth. Refilling is annoying, it'll keep emptying, and in the end you'll no longer use it! It takes up space you'd sooner have a fridge space! If you want a dispenser pay the extra for one that is plumbed in with an ice dispenser, you'll thank yourself later!

Nice fridge - but 114 Kg is a bit hefty. When full of food this would be probably go up to 200 Kg. Assuming weight is on 4 corner stands - not sure I'd want it on a wooden floor. Maybe it would be OK, but seems a bit heavy.

Samsung fridge freezers are very noisy too. Mine is 56dB compared with stated 39dB. Their customer service is absolutely dreadful. Engineers have stated noise is an average value and another time that they measure the noise in a vacuum. Customer service don't have a clue - at one stage asked me to drop it off at my nearest customer service centre so they could take a look. Absolute joke of a company - avoid!!! Currently stuck in the middle between Currys who have stated there is nothing they can do as I've used it (how would you know it was so noisy) and Samsung who won't acknowledge that the noise is a problem.
