Just a warning to check the vouchers that Sainsburys tills seem to spew out. I just spent £17 pound and got a £5 Argos voucher. Says to spend at any Argos and no minimum spend mentioned anywhere. Dont throw your vouchers out without checking! Will put photo underneath. I know some Sainsburys are doing promotional vouchers if they are a new shop or have an Argos attached but mine is an old Sainsburys with no Argos.

Given that a warning, which can be weak or strong, is cautionary advice on possible danger, difficulty, harm or anything else unfavourable, it seems quite reasonable and grammatically correct to characterise any advice to avoid potential loss as a warning. Haha.

Thanks, it does. I got one when I went shopping at Sainsburys yesterday but it says 'Just for you with your Nectar card' and then a number, which is weird as I don't have a Nectar card. Maybe the cashier gave me someone else's :/

Sainsbury's placed a bid to buy Argos last year, that was rejected by the share holders of Argos, later the same year, Sainsbury's placed another higher bid to secure the Argos group, which was accepted this time around, the deal was signed and sealed in September 2016 Argos is now part of the Sainsbury's family, there is no news of any name change, some Argos stores will close in the next two years, as part of the deal that was agreed, and bigger Sainsbury's stores will have a small Argos placed within the store to cover any Argos in the area that closes. I would point out that prices in both stores are different even though both are owned by the same company, it would still pay to check deals in each store, before buying any product.

Wikipedia Homebase info; "Founded by Sainsbury's and GB-Inno-BM in 1979, the company was owned by Home Retail Group from October 2006 until it was sold to Wesfarmers in February 2016. Wesfarmers have announced plans to rebrand the business, under its existing Bunnings Warehouse name within three to five years.".
"Bunnings confirmed in November 2016 that the Homebase store in St Albans would be the first to be rebranded as Bunnings Warehouse as part of a trial, and will open in February 2017. An additional three will be opened by June 2017, with up to six more completed by the end of the year.[16] The stores will adopt a low-cost warehouse model."

Yes, many have stated the obvious reason Sainsbury's bought Argos. Since on line shopping and deliveries is growing so well for the big stores, Sainsbury's felt they had an excess of space in stores. Hence benefit to move the local Argos in there and they use the space plus ultimately closing the old external Argos stores to save money !

I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but I was behind someone the other day with one of these vouchers and they were told that they can only use these vouchers in Argos stores which are within Sainsburys. 4 Dec 16#96
No sainsburys used to own homebase years ago and sold it to home retail group. Then recently bought home retail group but didnt want homebase back, only wanted argos and habitat. So another party had to be found to buy homebase. You will see alot of argos stores closing in the next few years and moving into sainsburys superstores, because the reason home retail group were so keen to sell up is due to the lease on around 70% of the argos stores are up for renewal in the next few years. This would've cost them millions to renew, whereas sainsburys will just keep all the big earning argos stores open and close the rest and move into a supermarket.

Will be sorry to see Argos extracted from our local Homebase, which was within walking distance. The two nearest Sainsbury's branches are far too small to accommodate an Argos concession. Having said that, the Fasttrack queues were pretty slow, with fewer staff in these mini Argos outlets.
Amazon doesn't turn a profit, though. I don't know if Sainsbury's wants to follow Amazon's business model as Sainsbury's own shareholders will probably want to see a dividend. This might be one race to the bottom too far.

Excellent move by Sainsburys buying Argos, even though Homebase wasn't a success for them.
Amazon is the supermarkets biggest threat and Sainsburys are looking to rival amazon with same day deliveries.
I think this is a very smart move by Sainsburys but what they must must do is change Argos returns policy to 'No Quibble'.
I very rarely buy from Argos purely because returns result in interrogation and distain from staff then manager.
THIS MUST CHANGE if they are to succeed and rival amazon.
Also instore ordering with Argos in all/most Sainsburys - same day delivery that Argos offer - if they can roll this out with groceries I see great potential here.

Here's a bit of a bizarre situation and a reversal of what you describe!
Homebase at Straiton near Edinburgh closed in September 2015 (followed by the closure of Edinburgh St Leonards in November 2016). As a compromise, Home Retail Group opened a "Homebase Decorating Centre" within Argos at Straiton. It closed pretty much as soon as the Sainsbury's takeover of HRG was completed at the start of September and has since become a Habitat store, relocating from within Homebase at Edinburgh Craigleith.
Assuming your store is large enough to contain an Argos, I wouldn't be surprised if the transition is fairly seamless with the Argos concession within Homebase closing and reopening within Sainsbury's the next day. Sainsbury's will be paying Bunnings for use of store space so I imagine they'll want to get out of Homebase as soon as possible.
Also somewhat strange to think that Sainsbury's co-founded Homebase.

Whatever the case, I'm voting this deal HOT, HOT, HOT! as I've seen many others have too.
I wouldn't rush to Sainsburys on the basis of these vouchers at tills. It is very random and pends on the person. Sometimes I get 1 voucher a visit. Other times you get none. Sainsburys will be keen to get more customers in the door at Argos. A £5 voucher will do that.
It's a good deal if these vouchers are wide spread. Probably user specifix and on that basis down to luck. Reality is only the OP can use the voucher they posted.

Argos voucher plus my first tick of 4 needed to get 3000 extra points.
Do you have to buy a specific product, or could it be (neactar) account specific, or is it just a lottery?
Whatever the case, I'm voting this deal HOT, HOT, HOT! as I've seen many others have too.
I wouldn't rush to Sainsburys on the basis of these vouchers at tills. It is very random and pends on the person. Sometimes I get 1 voucher a visit. Other times you get none. Sainsburys will be keen to get more customers in the door at Argos. A £5 voucher will do that.
It's a good deal if these vouchers are wide spread. Probably user specifix and on that basis down to luck. Reality is only the OP can use the voucher they posted.
Its funny really. We have a Homebase with an Argos inside right opposite our store. I reckon thats going to be a mess once contracts run out.
So will this now be another demonstration of our rights as we stand at the tills refusing the Sainsburys vouchers but rather only accept Argos £5.00 and it must be suitable for vegans lol
Lol
Wow, since when?
Usual triple points, 60 points when I spend £1.50 at the Deli counter and 130 points when I buy 6 x 1L of milk.
Likely see a lot of cross promotion and Argos in every store (that has space)
