Only 80p, perfect addition to a cheese selection. I love a cheese board but now I make my own as there is always a cheese I hate!
Other flavours:
Cheddar, garlic and herb
Cornish Brie
Double Gloucester and chive
Farm house Cheddar

Yes and the festive market ones are 200g rather than 80g and much better quality than this mass-produced processed rubbish.

Why is this hot? This is over £10 a kilo. I've eaten truffles which cost less than this.

Brilliant thanks. I get a selection of these every year for after Christmas. They usually have use by 5th Jan on them.

Have you noticed though that most years EVERYTHING Christmas related will have the same date on regardless of how long it really takes to go off. A few years ago I spotted this, for over 2 weeks every single crimbo cheese (and many other items) in Sainsburys had the 7th of Jan on it. All of them! Now are we expected to believe that every cheese was made on the same day? Or is it just a way to convince idiots to throw it away the week after new years and start buying stuff again?

On a side note: the Aldi white brie they're doing for Christmas (in the Christmas area of the fridge) is exceptional. 99p for 200g, I was having an absolute mouthgasm.

Throw it away, are you crazy??? Most cheese's expiry dates really mean "best after", it's cheese, most of them get better with age. :stuck_out_tongue:
Nothing better than finding a bunch of reduced cheeses that actually taste better than full price ones <3

Oh don't get me wrong, I see best before almost as a challenge! I know people that would throw out savoury rice if its a week past its BBE though, so expect a lot fall for it. I only throw it if it obviously smells off, and my sense of smell is crap so very little wastage.

The main issue is touching the cheese with hands - just hold it with the cling film it's wrapped in, that should keep it from going mouldy for months (yes, my friends think I'm crazy for yelling at them for touching the cheese, but I regularly keep 10+ cheeses in my fridge, no way I can finish them within a few weeks of them touching all my cheeses! :'( )

This is a con as a truffle should be taller than it is round. Cold.

This is n't really a bargain, only 80 grams, Tesco is £1 for 100 grams and Lidl is 99p for 100 grams

You do realise 80p for 80 grams is the same as £1 for 100 grams right?

12 Dec 16#46
Oh and yes re best before/use by I've got enough knowledge to know what's safe to push date wise and what's not. Some people are a bit funny about that's stuff though so thought I would say the normal use by so they know it's OK to buy now for Christmas and or New years
soldierboy001 to gemgenie
12 Dec 16#48
Use by for cheese is many months if stored correctly. After you cut a piece off, wrap tightly in cling film to keep out air and it will be OK. No need to store in fridge unless very hot. You can have 3 blocks of cheddar cheese and if you use one block after 6 months it will be mild cheddar, one block after 12 months it will be mature cheddar and the third after 18 months it will be extra mature cheddar. Don't take those months as gospel, but just to give you an idea. That's how the dairies do it.
