Looking for a box for my parents that supports Netflix, Amazon and Now TV that is easy to use so is this overkill?
Don't mind paying more for a stable and easy to use box with a good remote and interface.
Those are about the only things they will use although my mother might want to look at her large photo collection which she would put on a micro SD card so maybe it will be good for browsing those also?

Roku is far easier than Amazon fire for one main reason, the layout of apps on the Roku stay where you put them... Amazon menu is ever changing and frustrating when you see something in the sub menu that you want only to find it's not there when you enter forcing you to back out to look again.

Dammit, bought the Roku 2 when it was £40 last week. :disappointed:
The 3 has the RF remote which is probably worth the extra.
Wondering about selling the 2 and getting the 3
P.S. The LED light on the 2 is super bright, does anyone know if the 3 is the same?

You can sideload a very old version of plex onto a NowTV but it's an archaic version. If you want Plex, nowtv isn't the bext solution, a full blown roku is far better.
