does this work with a firestick

It's 2.4GHz, so unless you can get a USB hub into the Firestick, you can't. Opt for the Bluetooth version instead.

Use the app for the fire tv in the play store or app store

is this any better than the £7 ones on ebay?

Typical price for this item. Plus point is that it appears to be the UK layout rather than US, but most users would prefer the backlit option for £1 more fulfilled Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01HDR58VI/

i do but would prefer a physical keyboard when doing firesticks for family and freinds as i use my phone as the guide.

I used to have one, the touch pad isn't that great and will register a soft "stroke" (for want of a better word) as a click which gets mega annoying.

It's all about the illuminated ones now (more expensive usually)! I got this recently (press Fn+F2 to choose which colour you want, green/blue/red) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291879748366 paid £8.59 but the price has went down to £8.29 now, and it's Best Offer too.
Will take a bit longer from China of course
I've had a non-illuminated touchpad/keyboard that died on me for no apparent reason, so not sure these things are built to last...

Would this work / be compatible with a Raspberry Pi Zero ?

I've got a similar one of these and it's crap. but it's a £7 one off ebay in answer to bradevosprint

Do you want to elaborate on 'it's crap'? Given it's not for typing out long essays but for navigating media systems and not having to use your TV remote's D-pad for entering letters... For what we need, I can't see where else we can get a compact wireless keyboard/mouse combo that can sit in the coffee table drawer. Seems a bargain to me - even at £10.59 but as others have said, they're on eBay for £7 and CPC had these for £5.95 - they're all the same design and electronics.

I've just had one delivered from someone from ebay and yes 'it's crap" keys don't work or very slow responses or have to press really hard. I've had a couple of others in the past with no problem so this one will be going back. There's so many of them about and not all are of the same quality.

Maybe avoid the poorer quality eBay ones and go for the better Amazon sourced original Rii models.

I've bought 3 from Amazon (with the backlight) and wouldn't get another one
Used them with my Raspberry Pi but every one developed the same fault. When using it, it was as if the left button was being pressed and got very difficult to use. I now use a wireless mouse with my Pi and it's much better

I believe so as I'm gunning for the bluetooth version. can I use this one for mobile phone? or I'm right to believe that I need the bluetooth version?
Amazon or ebay, most of the sellers and products are the same nowadays but of course you have the better amazon aftercare.

One thing that sucks with these, is that there is no power switch for the box. So you still have to use your original remote to power on your device and then switch to this.

Is this the latest offering from Rii? I have the original, which is rubbish, but the i8+ is excellent... Just wondering where this one fits in?
