Rainbow Six Siege is the upcoming installment of the acclaimed first-person shooter franchise developed by the renowned Ubisoft Montreal studio for the new generation of consoles and PC.
Inspired by the reality of counter-terrorist operatives across the world, Rainbow Six Siege invites players to master the art of destruction. Intense close-quarters confrontations, high lethality tactics, team play, and explosive action are at the centre of the experience.
The multiplayer gameplay of Rainbow Six Siege sets a new bar for intense firefights and expert strategy in the rich legacy of past Rainbow Six games.
Counter-terrorist units
Counter-terrorist operatives are trained to handle extreme situations, such as hostage rescue, with surgical precision. As 'short range' specialists, their training is concentrated on indoor environments. Operating in tight formations, they are experts of close-quarter combat, demolition, and coordinated assaults.
The siege gameplay
For the first time in Rainbow Six, players will engage in sieges, a brand new style of assault. Enemies now have the means to transform their environments into strongholds: they can trap, fortify, and create defensive systems to prevent breach by Rainbow teams. To face this challenge, players have a level of freedom unrivalled by any previous Rainbow Six game. Combining tactical maps, observation drones, and a new rappel system, Rainbow teams have more options than ever before to plan, attack, and diffuse these situations.

I think I understand where you're coming from. With Xbox there are always cheaper digital options to buy.

I only usually buy digital these days if its either a filthy cheap foreign store purchase OR its an xbox play anywhere game. Do enjoy the occassional bout of Forza or Gears with all the bells and whistles turned on :stuck_out_tongue:

I do almost always buy physical. Not that I am a pro gamer, I just like collection those boxes on my shelf, lol. Call me crazy if you wish, but I do enjoy it. :P

Its nice to have something physical. My steam library is crazy yet it feels like I own so many more Xbox One games - purely because I have a fair few boxes to put to the games.

I will never get bored of collecting tat. :stuck_out_tongue: That's a fun part of my life, lol.

I like my collections but at the end of the day price dictates what I purchase  I'm not going to pay (in this case around £2.50 with cdkeys credit?) more for digital when I can get this edition, likewise I won't pay much more for physical over digital.
A large chunk of my shelf space, attic space and wardrobe storage is just game cases going back to the N64  No space for it all aha.

As far as you're not with Santander you should be fine. I'm a fan of "collecting" and "collection". Two of my favourite words. Digital is just not my taste for lots of reasons. Instead I do tend to encourage to buy physical instead lol.

My bank doesn't seem to have so much hissys with everything foreign, and the one time i did they rang me straightaway to confirm and let it through. I prefer digital these days but its hard to turn up a deal like this. Got a collection building recently  Simplygames have it at a tenner but OOS and doubt that it'll be back in stock at that price.

I didn't buy it myself, just because I don't have an xbox, otherwise would have! If you are buying make sure you use any cards aside Santander. People have been complaining Santander blocks the transaction. Coolshop is not a UK based company, mind.

Tempted given the lack of cheap cheap credit at the moment even with the slight price increase. Especially with the extra tat

Great game.
Re single player - there are offline "situations" - preset scenarios that you have to complete (eg protect a hostage through 4 waves of attacking terrorists).
All other game play is online only.
You can play solo in terrorist hunt, or team up with a number of other, to hunt down a set number of terrorists.
The main game is around two teams of 5 players, taking turns to either attack or defend in a number of different scenarios.
Eg rescue (or keep captive) a hostage, find and disarm two bombs, secure a location etc
First year just ended, which provided two new operators and on new map, every quarter. All free.
They've just launched year 2, with likely another 4 maps and 8 operators - free - over the year.
So I reckon there are at least another 12 months good online game play left in this.
Excellent game!
