I'm slowly converting to vegan myself, have to do it slowly though due to my colitis. Dr advised replace one thing at a time so its not a complete shock to my system.
Sad thing is most people don't realize this, if the world wanted to half the emissions causing climate change, they could do it today and it wouldn't even cost anything. The meat industry causes over 51% of all the emissions. We get told to cut down on water in showers etc, we get told to walk more rather than drive. Transportation that includes all cars, trucks, planes, boats, cause 11% of emissions. On average people use 2 gallons of water for a shower, its 600 gallons of water for one hamburger. 7 billion people in the world and over a billion starve, yet we create 15 billion tons of food, more than half of that food goes to feeding animals we slaughter. Greenpeace and other environmental groups won't tell you this as they're paid to keep shut. Biggest industry in the world is the meat industry and thats why climate change can never be sorted.

i'm in the same boat as you, vegetarian and mostly vegan but the numbers you have presented ar just wrong, really really wrong! saying incorrect facts does more harm than good.
24% of emissions come from agriculture, forestry and other land use (mostly agriculture), whilst this isn't good it is worth getting the figures right to help strengthen your argument.
They're so big there's not Mushroom left on your plate.

Thanks for reminding us, yet again, that sam_of_london does not care for the taste of Quorn! The week or so inbetween Quorn deals might mean someone forgets!

But if you don't believe the official figures, where are the made up ones you're saying coming from? Terrorists like PETA? Not bias at all

Sorry i don't believe the EPA, paid off/donations/threats, i don't know which but meat industry has them in their pocket as well like they have most of government etc. Look at how they treated fracking, completely dead against it to start with, telling people its unsafe to drink the water and then all of a sudden changed their minds, even told people the water is safe to drink even though its got chemicals in it. They lost any trust when they did that.
