Unfortunately the market has changed, people like ordering from devices. However, if you take up Just Eat on all the offers they give back to their partners you will find that you can reduce that % - as an example they have deals with wholesalers which give you cashback . The whole idea is that this becomes cost neutral to the restaurants!

Can't guarantee, but I know some of my things (not this take away offer, not tried it personally, other things) sometimes go through as much MUCH lower.... but it has generally (that I've noticed anyway, may loose interest waiting) change closer to payout date. It's a worry, and another thing to "track" but it has gone ok before. May be an issue, but try and breath a little...! Quidco will make you pass out

So what if it's not reliable that's not the point, Quidco is a cashback company, they're not going to offer an instant discount when their business model is cashback, it's not rocket science is it!
Quidco aren't always reliable, but there is a chance of getting a good proportion of the money back from this instead of the usual few percent, like with anything from Quidco or TCB, it isn't guaranteed, this is no different.

I completely disagree. Wouldn't say it's a scam at all, I've received £421.52 in cash and just got £140 cashback today from quidco for switching to BT, it all depends on the retailers decision to payout, usually they don't if you've already used a discount code.

I recommended two tier pricing, appologies:
"You can report them to Just Eat for that, online prices have to be the same as their normal menu."
Also I note a 1% increase in just-eat commision in April this year, this will only INCREASE.
I tipped the drive £3.00 on a £30.00 order this weekend.
May well order over the phone or portion size and quailty will drop- something has to give. https://m.reddit.com/r/unitedkingdom/comments/3g8f2e/foodordering_websites_like_just_eat_could_put_us/

Interesting...I may call my regular one next time. Funnily enough, they have a special price for a certain deal only on Just Eat though. I think it's more if you order directly. Gonna ask them next time and see what they say. They seem to care more if the order's from Just Eat rather than a call though, that's my experience anyway.
A local pizza place keeps the same prices on Just Eat and it's own website though and I used them for this cashback which has tracked so far. Tempted to do another takeaway tonight but probably not good for the heart. :stuck_out_tongue:

I guess the delivery logistics is a major factor here with staff wages and orders in random locations with time specifics. This must make it incredibly difficult to keep everyone happy - staff and customers and owners.
If all just-eat orders were collection the profitabilty and ease of running the business would make it far smoother to run. But then delivery is the basis of the business model.
I see a two tier pricing structure from the take aways in the future, more expensive if customer wants delivery, standard price for collection.
£1.00 isn't enough - wont even cover fuel and vehicle maintaince costs.
I know the Bangladeshi community in particular are very close, I'm sure delivery cost has or will be discussed in the future. So everyone agrees on an increase.
Customers, staff, owners and just-eat all need to be happy or it wont workout long term.
qwerta369
17 Dec 16#76
The cut that Just Eat take is nearly 20% when you factor in the VAT, the admin charge and the cut of the delivery charge.
Of course the takeaway knows what they are signing up to, yes it is in the terms and conditions, but it doesn't make it fair. Just Eat grab small business owners by the balls. We have no choice but to sign up to Just Eat, it's where many customers are nowadays, because they want convenience of ordering on their tablet, phone or laptop without having to phone. Even though a good number of customers still phone up after having placed their Just Eat order to make amendments or state requirements. If we want customers, we have to pay Just Eat nearly 20% of the revenue. 10 years ago we didn't have to, now we do.
simonk1969
17 Dec 16#75
Why would we want to order direct when we get cash back from ordering online and it's easier? The companies have signed up to Just Eat, they should have read the terms and conditions first..
deany76
17 Dec 16#74
Hi
The commision is 13% but you may be factoring in the initial just-eat setup cost - £699 plus VAT to reach 20% - also the delivery costs.
The really good take aways seem to benefit from the extra orders.
I find its easier as I use the re-order and the chance of an order mistake is less.
But I understand what you are saying as a take away asked me to phone next time (this was on a collection so easier for them, I doubt I will return there).
Maybe the take aways need to raise prices slightly.
My local indian is MORE expensive than others and is NOT a part of just-eat's network.
ps
the take aways weren't forced to sign up to just-eat and will have understood fully their T&C I'm sure.
qwerta369
17 Dec 16#73
Please don't order via Just Eat etc. They take almost 20% of the order value from the small business owner. Instead, call the takeaway directly and ask for a discount for going to them direct. Very likely they'll give you a better discount for doing so. Just Eat is raping small businesses. They are licensed extortionists.
Order placed last night for my local Thai takeaway in London - Quidco tracked within an hour for £9.90.
Usually with goods the cash back is approved and confirmed only after the refund policy timeframe has lapsed (to make sure you haven't returned the items). It will be interested to see how long this one will take - considering it is now impossible for the eaten items to be returned - at least not in it's original form ;o)

Why not just offer the discount upfront. This is where hungryhouse is better. Regrettably, just eat may be purchasing them which is at the discretion of the competition council. Why not just give 25% off waiting for cashback is a pain :disappointed:
ikonanddiva to waterloo
16 Dec 163#27
Because the 25% would show as an instant discount, where you pay what you're expected to pay. Any other method means they can try and wiggle out of paying the discount, in effect leaving you paying full price. Buyer beware.
A much safe bet is waiting until the APPYDAY (okay, so that one is Hungry House) promotion and then order from a local takeaway who is offering a first try promotion of 20-25% off and/or 20-25% if spending over a certain amount, usually £15-£20 where they become stackable where discounts quickly become 40-50% off. Those App codes give instant gratification and reward, else you're left chasing Quidco for IF they pay out...
I'll give this one a miss and wait for a proper instant discount.

you get the cashback the next month with Lloyds
Quidco aren't always reliable, but there is a chance of getting a good proportion of the money back from this instead of the usual few percent, like with anything from Quidco or TCB, it isn't guaranteed, this is no different.
discount codes for just eat tonight anyone know? I'm starving n don't wanna pay full

Many thanks, dinner is sorted. Tracked £5.35 on a £21.36 order.
Have some heat
£2.95 back from £11.80
As they charge 50p to pay by card!!
EDIT: Hungry House have no discount offers this weekend so this is the best deal around. You would think this would be a time for them to capitalise as its doubtful many people will be using their services next Saturday night.
I normally use topcashback and never had a problem .
I have only used Hungry House once a year ago.
.....
Lloyds Bank are offering 10% cash back till 3rd Jan with Hungry House just activate Everyday Offers - for folk with Lloyds.
A local pizza place keeps the same prices on Just Eat and it's own website though and I used them for this cashback which has tracked so far. Tempted to do another takeaway tonight but probably not good for the heart. :stuck_out_tongue:
If I can ask the community if they can help with post #155

Usually with goods the cash back is approved and confirmed only after the refund policy timeframe has lapsed (to make sure you haven't returned the items). It will be interested to see how long this one will take - considering it is now impossible for the eaten items to be returned - at least not in it's original form ;o)
I got a comfirmation e-mail at 7.51pm from Quidco confirming £8.45 cash back on a £33.80 just-eat Pre-order.
The Pre-order was placed 6.39pm yesterday.
So 1 hour and 12 mins later Quidco confirmed.
All good so far.
Indian pre-order for 6.15pm Saturday £33.80 (for three) Wirral North West UK.
Quidco confirmed tracked for £8.45
an improvement from recent Wordery etc deals
Order placed on a Mac, Safari browser, no ad blocker or anti virus.
Thank you OP
Still prefer TopCashback but 25% is too good to turn down.

Duncan Banatyne's 100% prophetic.
I wonder what those Dragon Den Hungry House founders think of the £200M valuation (and the Dragons).

Your note:
I am collecting the 'coins' on Quidco as well and have about 8 more tracked cashbacks to get to get my 50 quid , so might order a load of Takeaways now that Just Eat gives the coins as well and will go over the 500 coins needed just in case some don't track!
I used Just Eat as my local Chinese give 20% off on there but not on Hungry House
Wonder what they'll do when they join up.

I have until 18th Feb to collect around 8-10 coins so unless I buy from elsewhere I will have to order approx 10 Takeaways in the next 2 months to get my £50 payout

.....
One thing I ordered from a local Indian in North Wales and he more or less said next time can you order on the phone as it costs us 20% (which in not true) that put me off that place a bit, why advertise just-eat then try and move you towards telephone orders.
£20 takeaway order
£4 off for the 20% offer
£5 off for xfactor voucher
50p card charge
25% cashback (will track at £16 purchase price)
Net price of £7.50 for a £20 takeaway.
Ta OP.
AVOID
A much safe bet is waiting until the APPYDAY (okay, so that one is Hungry House) promotion and then order from a local takeaway who is offering a first try promotion of 20-25% off and/or 20-25% if spending over a certain amount, usually £15-£20 where they become stackable where discounts quickly become 40-50% off. Those App codes give instant gratification and reward, else you're left chasing Quidco for IF they pay out...
I'll give this one a miss and wait for a proper instant discount.
