It's account credit, not £50 off the item.
So it's £229. It's also Very, which is a joke in itself.
Edit the price, it's gathering heat based on a false price.

Update 2 ... I have just received a text message saying I must pay my next installment today, I called customer services AGAIN only to be told that the finance service dept (to whom the previous adviser wrote an email explaining the mix up) had chosen to completely ignore the email. This new adviser has now sent another email and hopes to get a response in 3 working days. FFS !!!!
I promise that I will take County Court action against VERY and every single adviser I have spoken to about this ridiculous situation if they don't get it sorted :disappointed:

I followed the steps and got the £50 off without having to contact them. Never had a problem with Very and use them quite often.

UPDATE ....I have just been informed that LOADS of customers have not been put on BNPL and they are trying to sort it out, a lovely young Lady was fully aware of the issue immediately and promised to get it resolved. Why oh why did the idiot I was on the phone for an hour with, pretend to know nothing about the promotion? He insisted he could do nothing without the promotional code (Despite the fact he almost certainly new full well that no code existed) Can't wait to pay account and get rid of them!!!
Never, ever, ever again :-(

I'm trying to get the £50 back - spoke to Customer Services last week, told me they are passing my details on to a team and money will be back on my account by yesterday. Nothing.

I have justr been told I didnt select BNPL despite being told on the 4th Jan that it was ok the account would be credited before FEB. The 'adviser' told me there was nothing he could do and i would have to write in!!! They would reprimand the person that gave me wrong inbformation. Hacked offf big time they are crooks and have now added interest to the account.
If yopu get anywhere PLEASE let me know because I am so angry I am going to start county court proceedings against them if they rip me off.

Try asking them on live chat. There's some debate about the £50 back not being a code so you could use a further discount code with it. However I'd check it via live chat and keep a copy of the transcript

I'm a bit confused. Is this hot based on £179 or £229??
If the latter, it's £239 from Tesco with GTA v

I think the net cost is £229, after the £50 credit has been applied to your account.
Also, the Tesco deal is irrelevant as it's £10 more, a lot of people like me want the Uncharted game (and have no interest in GTA V) and you have to pay straight away.

Yep as people are saying; it's not cashback. You pay £229 in the long run but £50 of that is credited to your Very account. You can't then cash that in to get the money back; you would have to spend it on something else with Very.

Why are you paying 229 in long run?.once account is opened the credit comes off your balance straight away ,bought the FIFA one on b Friday and my balance is 179 ,credit was applied immediately .

we got ours last week, very fast delivery, but should have included 3 months psn pass. It wasn't in the box. we contacted them via Messenger (fobbed off). Rang them twice got nowhere (Indian call centre), finally got the UK call centre now it has to be passed on to be checked....... will get a reply within 5 days! This always happens with Very, they will sell you things super fast but when there is a problem?? enough said!

Did you add the extra three months PSN or is it included?
I'm really fighting the urge to pull the trigger on this deal but I'm really hesitant to start messing around with credit, because you're at mercy of Very's policies that they can change when they feel like it.
Also one other thing I need to ask, is the "payment free" period the 12, 6 or 3 months you choose?
So even if you opted for 6 months, with the intention of paying it off in one payment as soon as possible you would still be okay. (I.E the credit date being the 1st of Feb 2017)

Why is this so difficult in every thread.
To get this deal you have to use buy now pay later, which means you have 12 months to pay it, you can wait till the last day on the 12th month to pay it.
So you order it with the code and choose buy now pay later, wait for them to credit the £50 back to your account, which will knock it off the price of the item you purchased then pay off the remaining amount.

You do get £50 off. Been using Very for years and never had a problem and they're BNPL options are excellent. Just because you've had one bad experience with them doesn't make them the worst company in the world. Had an issue with a return a few weeks ago and they compensated my account with £50. Heat added.

Is this different from the last 20% off offer then?
My understanding is, you don't pay straight away. Instead wait for the £50 to be applied to your account, THEN pay for it using the £50 credit as part of the payment. Hence £50 off?
