As a youngster trying to earn my spending money when I went to Poytech, I worked in an arcade - when the boss went out for lunch I'd whip out the keys and load Outrun up with lots of credits  He did catch me once though...

You mean people who enjoy a challenge in a game. If a game's easy your better off watching someone else play it on youtube

I enjoyed the original too... But its just not the game you need 1080p or 4k graphics! Surprised its not been realised on mobile like max Payne and others

I'd like to disagree with you as I loved the game originally, but you're probably right.

Though I'm sure I must owe you my life or some jazz, for the warning, I am pretty aware I don't have to buy it. Removes little from my own preference of them offering something new though. I get the feeling that this, alongside Crash remasters, is less offering what the fans want and more testing the water to see if their actually is still a market there for these games.
Maybe it will look fantastic in 4k...looked pretty underwhelming in the video... last gen textures at 4k are still last gen textures. One would hope it's least be super stable though. 2048 is certainly the best of the series...be interesting to see if they retain the soundtrack

If ever there was a game that didn't need a remake... This is it!

You mean only wipeout hd on ps3 and that one was not stable 1080p 60fps was dynamic res dropped lower and fps wasn't super stable, the vita game was like 540p 30fps and the ps1 game like super low stuff. All this remastered for PS4 and PS4 Pro at their best is what people wanted if you don't want it no one forcing you to it's for us fans who want this for me on 4k hdr tv with ps4 pro these games will look fantastic. Also according to PS blog they mentioned more tracks aswell etc anyways im happy for the remastered wipeout trilogy collection in one for ps4

pretty bs everybody cheering for this when basically you're being charged it because there's no backwards compat support on ps4. games already ran in 1080p and far as I can tell there's no enhancements. Would have loved a new one.
Last guardian demo'd well at the show though. Last of us part 2 least 2 years away. Uncharted dlc looked good though.

I've no idea where you've been but it most certainly is going to be arriving. There is even a short demo video of the graphics and scenery of midgar with a a bit of a battle sequence, the battling looks similar to ff15. Although I'm sure there will be some twist to accommodate 'materia'. Hopefully the 1st installment of the 3 planned will be available next year's holiday season.

I think I read somewhere that lives are limited so that if you use up your day's quota of lives you have to wait a day for some more unless you pay.

Apparently not. Eurogamer stated that it could set a new standard for free-to-play games on console.

It's not a deal. It's a freebie. That's why I've put it into freebies.
Now if you're asking me why I've posted it because it's always, and will always be free. My answer would most certainly be so I could alert others to it. You know, those that didn't know. I'm trying to be helpful. I'm sorry if it didn't satisfy

How is this a deal if it's a free game in the first place?

Of course it's not completely free, I'm afraid - though it's too early to say the extent to which micro-transactions will be emphasised.
From the store listing: "In-game purchases optional"

does anybody know if this is just a genuine game that's free or a standard 'free to play, pay to win' game with emphasis on micro transactions?
