No it wouldn't, if there's no audio files there for it to play it can't play them. All of Spotify's offline play stuff would be encrypted so only the Spotify app can read the data
I'm not quite sure what part of its functionality you wanted it for but if it was mostly for the equaliser there are some free equaliser apps on the play store that will put the whole of the phones audio through an equaliser while they're running

No built in chrome-cast support but you can just cast it too your chrome audio 'puck' via your phone cast option!

I'm guessing it'll not be usable with the radio, but will improve the sound/EQ for your MP3s - and the difference should be more noticeable with a decent pair of cans.

Can't knock it for 10p but everytime I use it on a flight it says the licence can't be verified. And whilst traveling is the only time I ever want to use my phone for music so I always have to switch another player.

When you see loads of people on a plane angrily fiddling with their phones, it is the license check of this app striking again :smile: Player Pro and JetAudo Plus also do a good job and have browse by folder too for going through mp3 folders and unlike this, no nasty surprises and regular genuine updates. This dev has been promising chromecast in next update for over a year now. Many say he owns and works on Neutron player and has abandoned this app as he makes much more there plus Google subsidises these big name sales too. I have not used it for a few years after a few of his infamous nasty license check attacks, have large Player Pro and JetAudio Plus widgets as my go to. But for only 10p, sure, get it.

does sound slightly richer than Google play app with same files, handles 192/24bit flac files with ease but like said is a bit heavier on battery than others. easily worth more than 10p, but its a bit of a pain having the two icons and installs due to unlocked

It's ok, it does sound nice and the EQ etc are good features, but: I find the UI terrible; as mentioned there's no CCast support which these days is just a joke really; the license check thing hasn't caught me out for a while but if I could dump this thing for something that corrected all those issues I would in a shot.
Still worth your 10p but not without fault.

Good old playerpro is what everyone copied and he keeps up with others including this dev, both are basically the same. However to me playerpro seems less resource hungry with tighter coding and probably a better dev and app, seems a tad faster as a result too, but not much between them. I love the folder access and easy sleep timer setting from playerpro (in menu button+ set widget songtitle-tap to open app) in bed. Buy this, when playerpro comes up for sale again, buy that and forget this as a backup in case playerpro dev dies or is kidnapped by aliens as some devs do disappear. Jetaudio plus, similar, never been on sale probably nor will be.

Great player!,used it for years,at home,with a tube headphone amp,and AKG 702's,and on the road with a Pioneer in car media player.I can flick through tracks,using the cars remote,or the head unit,depending on how I set up the player.I like to listen to albums,and it works flawlessly for that.

I thought this was really good when I bought it but it hasn't developed in a couple of years . no Chromecast, issues offline would not play anything unless it saw play store !!

I used to use this app, but the interface is pretty poor and dated. have since moved on to something equally capable with a few more bells and whistles, and which doesn't look like it was designed on 2005. Wouldn't go back to it, even for 10p.

Works brilliantly on my cheapo Moto E and doesn't seem to knacker the battery, although I only use for an hour at a time.
What is impressive is how it makes my cheap car speakers sound 10x more expensive! The choice of EQ settings are superb.
The crossfading is OK, but I just wish someone would come up with an app that intelligently mixes tracks. Surely it wouldn't be too difficult to set 'cue' marks on tracks, so that one segues into the next?

i also live in an area with patchy 4g. My workplace is in a location only served by one mobile provider. i have a monthly data limit of 6gb. i cant get fibre broadband where i live and my wifi can barely cope with the streaming.

The exact reason why I don't get on with this app. I tend to only listen to music on my phone when I am flying and when the phone is in flight mode the licensing check comes back with an error and renders the app unusable and I resort to other music player apps.

Hands down, an excellent deal. IMO this is the only audio player on the Play Store which features a great user interface, a 10 band equalizer, able to download album art on the fly as well as the option to choose between AudioTrack (Java based) and OpenSL ES native output.

This doesn't seem to be the case. I've tried to use it without data connection and it works (even after multiple phone restarts).
My handset has 64GB of storage space out the box. I store 3D movies, VR videos, and dozens of albums all in FLAC form and I'm not past 50% usage of my storage space. Of course I have them all in the cloud too but that's no good if I want to watch or listen offline. I've got both PowerAmp and Player Pro. There's very little difference between them. Viper4Android codec (on Playstore free) will give them both the boost they need as well as everything else that makes a noise on your device. I wouldn't use any of these apps on a phone or even a tablet due to battery drainage. I do use them on Android TV boxes and along with the Viper codec get an equally great sound from both Music Players. Development for Poweramp is ongoing, just to answer those saying its not been updated for ages. There's a beta channel in full operation so this deal may be a sign a new stable version of PowerAmp is nearly ready for publication. Although I only paid 10p for it myself and that was 2 years ago so could just be a sales gimmick to push it up the app charts.
