no its not 3tb (so will probably get cold in here :smirk: ) but its going to be very quick, is ultra portable and much more reliable than a 240gb sdcard. couldn't find a better price for a competing product. 3yr warranty

Forgive my ignorance but isn't an sd card and a ssd the same technology? Why would one be more reliable then the other?

No, they are not quite the same technology.
While both are 'solid state', ie no moving parts and not a magnetic storage medium, flash cards (eg SD cards) and SSD drives are different.

There's the ADATA SV620 240GB at just under £70 on Amazon. Supposed to be very quick read/write speeds. Looks slightly larger than this, more the size of a normal internal SSD.

U.S. don't pay tax, which is why most things are cheaper over there, and why we pay import duty when things come from there

They do have sales tax which can be as high as 11% depending on the delivery location and if online sales are taxed there. The problem is that US stores never show the price with the local taxes added.

Whoa, whoa! Now just hold on one cotton picking minute. I noticed in the above linked youtube presentation, the price on US Amazon was $74.99 (ok US Amazon price is $79.99) Which even at today's beaten up sterling price could convert to £65. So then I guess not so much of a deal...
Seems like you can't get it cheaper at the moment, so good if your after one. This comment is in no way intended as a slight to the right honorable OP's deal posting abilities. I thank him/her for bringing it to my attention.

yes the US to UK price difference is shocking.. but that could probably be said for all ssds/storage/computer components. may be one to keep an eye out for on amazon UK when they add the product though.

Add VAT to the US price and it's about the same as UK.
Tried to buy this yesterday but not able to get before Christmas so went for the Samsung T3, dearer but quality piece of kit.

Would it work on android phone/tablet via otg?

it doesn't specify it would but it could be due to power requirements. maybe a Y splitter cable and power bank could make it work. I think the question is whether it's going to bring any benefit.. I doubt that many phones could transfer data at these quoted speeds..?

I hope so...I was told micro drives were the future. Could add some extra storage to my Sinclair QL.
