Sony announced the PS4 Slim at the PlayStation Meeting in New York on September 7th 2016. The PS4 Slim is a redesigned PS4 which brings an all-new construction, all-new controller and sleeker design to Sony's existing PlayStation 4 console. The PS4 slim will soon be the most beautiful PlayStation on the market, it’s cutting-edge aesthetic and modern feel is simply spellbinding. Despite the PS4 Slim’s compact framework, there’s no compromise when it comes to memory specifications and power. The new release boasts a 500GB hard drive - a drive which more than covers all gaming needs. When it comes to the PS4 Slim, it clear that big things really do come in small packages.
Reinvented Design
Echoing the angular look of the original PS4 design, the PS4 Slim boasts a much smaller design; confining the power of the PS4 into an even smaller, more beautiful, device. The sharp and distinct corners of the original console have been replaced with rounded, curved edges. Additionally, the standard surface grips have been switched with creatively designed rubber grip-pads, all in the shape of the infamous PlayStation symbols. The PS4 slim is available in a classic jet black grey colour.

Useless support; they've still yet to get back to me and they've still yet to dispatch it. Absolutely fuming now; and to think they had the audacity to charge me a PayPal surcharge on top of that!
Going to contact them through PayPal, as it seems that's when companies start to listen.

I've just woken up and seen that my order still hasn't been dispatched yet, even though I paid £5 for 'Premium Express Delivery' before the cut off time of 9pm. Grrr.
Is there anyway I can get a refund on these charges? It's unacceptable that I paid for the service, yet it still has not been fulfilled.

I ordered 3:20PM yesterday and it was dispatched at 7:13AM this monring. This is with the free standard delivery. Maybe contact the support team and ask for refund for the express delivery.

Yes it's being marketed as a hybrid but it will mainly be a home console that you can take with you and play on the go. I'd be surprised if it doesn't also take a big chunk out of their 3DS market share.
Of course Nintendo aren't going to explicitly say they're abandoning the Wii U but there's been more than enough rumours that they've already stopped production of it and the Switch isn't out for a few more months.
Do you remember when they unveiled the DS and said it would be a 3rd pillar for them along with their home console and the Gameboy? It didn't take long for the Gameboy to disappear once the DS launched.
I do agree the Wii U has some great games which is the reason I own one myself but I've had it for at least a couple of years now. Personally though if I was contemplating buying a Nintendo console at this moment in time I would wait for the Switch.

The new console is more of a mobile hybrid though, and they have stated themselves that they won't be abandoning the Wii U and the switch has been designed to run alongside it, not supersede it.
But yes I do agree the library is limited, but the games that are available are some of the best games ever made. I suppose it all boils down to what machumauk's children like, but I would say the Wii U is a safe bet.

I'd just like to add to the advice scotjam provided if you don't mind.
Whilst the Nintendo Wii U is a great console with some brilliant games (I have one) I'd honestly find it hard recommending at this moment in time as Nintendo will be releasing a new console in March (Nintendo Switch). I would recommend waiting if you can as the Nintendo Wii U has held its price very well since it launched but at the current prices it's hard to recommend for something which won't get many new games.
As I mentioned there's a bunch of great games on the Wii U (mostly Nintendo's own) but they themselves will be concentrating on their new console when it's launched.

It's this (ie PS4) or Xbox One for any serious gaming. If your kids are new to gaming, you could consider Nintendo Wii U but that is more for cartoon games rather than serious games. Best to see what their friends have if possible and get the same so they can play online together.
Sony PS4 sells better (bestselling current gen console) but Sony are a rather unpleasant bunch if you get on the wrong side of them. I personally boycott them completely now after the geohot debacle.
So up to you, but those are the 3 options.

I would not do it, zavvi is known to cancell orders (no stock etc) like the one from black friday deal.
Fifa and U4 was for 175-180 than not really a deal.

PS4 plus Overwatch Origins (+ possibly Uncharted 4) for just under £200. I used £99 of tesco voucher, that I'd saved up, but know there's always a hassle getting these reinstated, if cancelling. Decisions, decisions, :smirk:
