I have to be honest, the dental industry love pushing advice on dental care only to do a 180 degree turn at a later date. We were told up and down is the only way to brush, now we're told it it exposed our roots and pushed the gums back, Colgate do about 10 different kinds of Total toothpaste-surely if they're total then one should do the lot? The industry is full of snake oil salesmen in my bumbling opinion.

Yeah it's a scary world if you want to look after your teeth! Don't know who/what to trust.

I believe the latest studies have found flossing is actually a bad idea. All well and good if you have something caught between teeth but I think they were saying you're just a likely pushing bacteria down below the gum line than dragging it out and possibly creating pockets for bacteria.

I've been thinking whether to buy this or not for nearly a year now lol. The reviews are either IT'S REALLY GOOD or IT'S REALLY BAD. There's no inbetween ! Think I'll go for it.

One of the BEST things I have ever bought. Got mine a couple of years ago after my dental hygienist recommended it. Use it every day and it is so easy and fast with no mess. Always gave up on 'normal' flossing after a couple of weeks. Since using this I have never had to see the hygienist as it does the job (my teeth a bit crowded) so saved huge amounts of £40 visits. I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone.

I know Poundland do a large bag for a £1, I'm not 100% if that's the 75 one but the quality wasn't too great.. Best one's I've found are 40 for £1 at Tesco.. Called Easy Flossing and they're in a clear bag with a purple cardboard top.

Floss tape is best, the harps fine, TeePee sticks are great if you are a bit lazy like me (different colours for size of interstitial spaces) I have heard that the PRO version of the power flosser is much better if that's your gig but mechanical removal of plaque and debris is more effective.

Spoke to our dentist about these recently. She said they're OK but would recommend floss or harps but upto me as long as it does the job. She's youngish and tech savvy so not opposed to them. You can get 75 floss harps (2.5 months worth) for a quid in lots of places so for a fiver a year you can floss properly. I'm a gadget nut so desperately want one but changed my mind after this info. Might be useful to motivate a braced youngster though who otherwise might not floss. This is better than no flossing at all.

I think it is good. It's quick and once you get used to it (2-3 times) it's effective. Use it daily and do a more thorough floss every other day. I've used it for 6 months and it is definitely not a waste of money if you stick with it.

Had one of these since September-ish and got it for the same price, really good product and good for the money if you hate flossing by hand (like me). Only gripes I've had are that if you actually have something stuck in your teeth that you have not noticed it doesn't have the power to 'shoot' it out, and that the tank only holds roughly 2 flosses worth of fluid in it.

Waste of money. Who wants mine?

Used mine every single day since getting it in July. Great bit of kit.

Keep your proof of purchase as these units have a habit of breaking. The 2 year warranty should give peace of mind though.

Loooooove mine and find it helps dislodge any hidden food too actually.. I still floss normally every so often but this is so much easier, especially with my wisdom teeth coming through.. Can even fill it up with mouth wash :smile:
